Hell, I have a hard time with the power dynamic implicit in shipping Gibbs with Tony, Tim, Ziva, or Kate (i.e., any of the team) because he never treats them as equals. Putting him with Abby is just that much more...

I mean, people are free to ship what they want, but if you're wondering why there's so little Gibbs/Abby, it's because, to most people, that father/daughter-style dynamic isn't sexual.

135: I'd say it's a good first project, but the truth is, it's a good second knit. It's longer than the LotR trilogy and the color changes can get annoying in the short stripes. Having said that, Four's scarf is an awesome thing to have when you're done with it. (Also, man his legs are long in that picture.)

161: Why is this a secret? The man is hot! He's been hot since the beginning, honestly, but ever since he started actually trying to work with his hair instead of against it and took some vocal lessons, he's been one awesome column of smoking hotness. I was annoyed when he lost the glasses, but now that he's old enough to occasionally need reading glasses I am truly happy in my fangirling of him.

109. Um, saying you don't want Ten to leave because he's "your" Doctor IS how the series works. Every time the Doctor regenerates, he leaves behind a group of fans for whom that version will always be "their" Doctor.

137. I've tried to read some LOTR fics, but I can't remember reading any that really hit me as amazing. Then again, I've only dabbled in the fandom occasionally after I've been reminded of it by something. If someone can rec good LOTR fics (gen or slash), please do. Preferably PG-13ish (or at least not PWPs if higher) and with no Boromir in the pairing. I like e.g. Gimli and Aragorn. And Tom Bombadil. Elrond would work, too, and Eowyn and Eomer. Hmm... if there is someone who can write Legolas as something other than a whiny girl getting knocked up by your character of choice, then that works, too. If there is a decent crossover, that works, too, but most I've seen have been a bit... not so good.

143. Which half is that? I can't stand You, Yorokobi no Uta and such. I like Keep the Faith, Lips and such, though. The less sugary, more rockin' stuff. I used to not really like Jin and Kame, but they have sort of grown on me thanks to Cartoon KAT-TUN, especially Kame. I still don't like Akame, though, and I doubt I ever will. I also don't like most of Kame's drama; I like Nobuta because of Yamapi, but that's it. I like the Jin drama where he's kicked around, like Anego, but not really other stuff by him. I love My Boss My Hero and Hanayome to Papa, though. :) In fact, it was My Boss My Hero that really made me pay attention to KAT-TUN; Nobuta etc weren't enough to do it.

Hah, I'm the same way, I like the rock stuff. Keep the Faith and Lips are two of my favorites, actually 8D; I can't say I'm big on Kame, really. As embarrassing as this is to say-- it was actually Gokusen 2 that got me to notice Jin and Kame, really. Because while the story was repetitive and boring, I love the rest of the main cast, and both of them being in it made me notice them, I guess. It was that and Yukan Club, me being a hopeless Taguchi fangirl.

...I've rambled. The point was, I generally notice them more as actors and on Cartoon KAT-TUN rather than their singing. ~~And clearly I have to watch My Boss My Hero.~~

I think it'd be kind of awkward to write fic about it (not that... awkwardness has ever stopped fandom XD) since it's based on a book which is the compilation of essays written by the real students of the real teacher in that class. I think you should read the book. It's 100x more interesting than fanfiction (and the movie!) anyhow.

144. That's the coolest thing about that show. It opens up all those latent desires that society tells us to be ashamed of and forces us to face them. I've had my moments watching House when I've been ashamed afterward of *agreeing* with some insane thing House did, but it's also made me feel a.) not alone in my failures, and b.) that it's possible to live a fulfilling life as scarred and imperfect as I am.

Pick of the litter today folks!

Note how none of them are the protagonists of their respective series. Frankly, it depresses me to flip through the Saturday morning cartoon lineup and only see male protagonists. Cable does a bit better, but not by much.

The only one of those series I've seen is FMA, and yeah, Winry's cool and all, but the story's not about her.

Strong female characters don't have to be the main character. All of the ones in the secret get significant screen time, after all.

It's depressing that there are so few shows with kick-ass female protagonists, but I got the impression the secret was about female characters in general, not female main characters.
