For my next Star Trek-fic, I want to write a McCoy-centric mission!fic where the bulk of the story takes place on an away mission. Kirk is not with him; it's him and some other officers.

There's going to be a mystery/moral dilemma with the aliens who live there, but not an infectious disease because there have been so many COVID-related stories written lately...

Any ideas?

I'm trying to outline a Potter fic where, for various reasons, Harry is removed from Hogwarts about a third of the way through first year, and spends about two years at another magical school, being brought back to Hogwarts in time for 4th year. The thing is, the time at the other school is pretty dull, as far as I've figured so far? Not unpleasant, just very normal non-life-imperiling school days.
So I'm trying to work out if I should focus on what happens at Hogwarts in the interim, focus on Harry (despite the slice-of-life tone those chapters would take, which I'm not sure I can write that well), or do a mix of the two.
Any suggestions?

It was not my intention to write a doomed romance, but that's where i've ended up.

So, is it better for them to live on in certain unhappiness, or for them to knowingly take on a suicide mission together?

For the record, I usually like happy endings.

- A new box of flavored tea that I have never tried before always makes my day.
- The colder weather, oh my goodness. I love sweater season and burying myself in numerous blankets and pillows at night so much.
- I've been enjoying screencaping pretty locations in video games since I can't do much outside due to Corona restrictions.
- Daily journaling has helped my outlook immensely.

I bought myself a white gold and diamond initial ring, in a small size that I can wear as a pinky or midi ring. I wear it with a few other rings, but I recently got a black cat's eye gel manicure and it looks amazing with just the initial midi.

The 4th installment of The Mystery Skulls Animated series was released. Action and angst. So good. O'boy downside is that we'll have to wait another two years for the ending.

My cat. I'd honestly be lost without her. She's been getting more and more physically affectionate. She now climbs up me in the morning just to say hi. And she jumps in my lap for brushing when I'm sitting out in the family room. And she sleeps at night either against my leg or sometimes on top of my feet. Some days she's the only reason I get out of bed at all.

There's a new bakery in the shopping center where my grocery store is that has beautiful pink rose macarons that are so delicious that I will probably get them every time I go to the store.

Getting time to read a book or listen to music. Coffee. Sitting outside at night in summer. Sitting indoors by a fire in winter. Rain. That feeling you get when all your tasks are complete and you can take 5 minutes just for yourself. Buying and giving presents to loved ones.

I was eyeing the brioche baked with chocolate at the grocery store today, but walked on by... only to find one in the day-old discount rack halfway across the store.

Also, today was chilly and windy but nice and sunny. I got lots of sleep last night and did a workout this morning. Plus, I get to take two days off work mid-week this week and THE ELECTION IS ALMOST OVER! Soon, no more ads everywhere...
