111. I'm asexual for entirely different reasons, so I cannot say that I understand what you're going through, nor can I relate to that particular character... But I hope you're able to work this out with your partner. It's not healthy to live in fear, even if the person is a good one/nicer one.

I'd say the "x secret is x" thing is just a brief way to wryly add "yeah, I know that was pretty obvious". A self-deprecating defensive gesture.

As for "tl/dr" that took me a long time to figure out also, but then I noticed it usually precedes a one-sentence summary of the message. So I think it basically means "if that was too long to read and/or you didn't read it, here's the point".
That's my understanding of it anyway.
