Xena was my first fandom. I LOVED IT!!! That's why years and years later, I still haven't been able to watch the final two episodes. I own them, but I don't know that I will ever watch them. D: Damn you, Rob Tapert!!!

A dance troupe I was in had a set of pieces to Green, Orange and Purple. Just recently I have introduced the album to a music-major friend of mine and she loves it and she doesn't usually like spoken-word stuff.

108. HA! Boring? Other than My Fair Lady, this is the only musical film that's ever managed to hold my interest. Boring would be Dreamgirls. Or Chicago. Or The Sound of Music. Or Mamma Mia (good god, that movie still gives me nightmares). But it's definitely not a movie for everyone. I'm actually shocked by how much the film managed to capture my love. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's a pretty damn fun movie to watch.

111. NATHAN/SHILO! Definitely the OTP of the film. I'm sorry to say it, but I just don't get the Graverobber/Shilo love. Nathan/Shilo made the film for me. Such a beautiful relationship (and of course the incestuous subtext is both disturbing and hot). And the Largos are just plain awesome.

108 - Yep, extremely boring. Just a bunch of lame songs for an hour and a half, and then an attempt at plot shoved into the last 15 minutes. Boring.

163. I totally agree. If it turns out that what was revealed in the last episode was all there was to it, what a cop-out. I'm hoping in the future we find out there were more layers to who/what John Scott was working with/on.

123 - (Ok prepare for wank) So their old-married-couple behavior for 40+ years, the tear-full confessions of devotion and trust, the on panel lip lock, the multitude of hug-'n-fly moments, the the friggen' "You are my rudder", NONE of that counts? It's just because we're all scared of black men? Dude, there are WM/IM journals out there. Enjoy them. The movie is full of slashtastic moments. Enjoy it. But jeeze, allow people to disagree with you without painting people like that.

(Also, and this is just personal, I like Cap/Iron Man in the comics more then with Rhodey because I like my Tony to be kind of vulnerable (woobie, subish, uke, what-ever it's called) and I can't see him like that wih War Machine easily because Rhodey spent so muh of his life working for Tony. The teammate and 'hero worship' thing Tony has for Cap works for me a lot more. Again, in the movies they're move 'equal' (in as much as a military man and a multimillionaire can be) and the dynamic works better for me. But dude, life and let live. The last thing Iron Man needs is a ship war.

151 - He is pretty cute in that picture. Pointy ears just rock.

153 - As much as I like the books, there is no real plot, and the movie had to give this huge sprawling narrative a plot. I think it was good and had singing dolphins. I guess I'm not a real fan then.

158 - I have no idea what this means, but I'd read it. (Martian? Wut?)

I agree jaldkfjh. I love how comfortable I feel at conventions, and it makes me sad when people diss them or...don't feel the same way. :/ I guess it depends who you're with, because I've heard awful con stories.

But they're still the only place I feel I can entirely be myself without being judged.

We keep trying to tell people our comms main purpose is that it is a wank-free zone for our favourite characters Captain America and Ironman.

For the most part this does mean slash but variety is the spice of life and most other comms for this are fairly generic and may not have the audience you want. As long as it isn't hate'fic/character bashing you're welcome to join us. The best way to make a difference is to start yourself

General question: I've seen this movie explode all over fandom, so I've been thinking about watching it. HOWEVER. I can't stand gore. Like people getting cut open and needles and fadslljkl;! And on the posters it says "from the producers of Saw" and whyyyy else you put that on there? ;_; So to those who have seen it, is it really gore-y?

It's campy gore, but it's gore. The main character spends a lot of time cutting people open and taking out organs, it's all very stylized though so it depends on your tolerance. If you can take stylized horror, then go for it, if not, I'd stay away.

You could give the soundtrack a listen if you are paranoid about watching the movie- I highly recommend the soundtrack even to people who may, like perhaps you, not be able to watch the movie.

I think they should have continued the relationship between Jack and Laira and not tried to foist that S/J thing that just didn't have any chemistry at all.
