153- I completely agree. Because the thing about the HGTG is that it's not static. There isn't one cannon. The books differ from the radio show, and the radio show differs from the television show and Douglas Adams was involved in all of them. Actually, I'm pretty sure he had a hand in the screen play for the movie too.

I think that Aziraphale and Crowley should be played by actors not quite as famous right now personally. I LOVE Laurie and Fry, but not in my favorite book ever. I've been waiting so long for them to make this movie it's not perfect enough for me. I personally love the idea of Cary Elwes or Tony Head for Aziraphale. And Billy Zane for Crowley... although I don't know how old e looks now, but I still love the idea. But, I don't think that's perfect either as I can't see them as anyone but them in the book.

108, I completely agree. I saw it because I thought the premise was fucking cool, and it turned out okay plotwise but the songs were horribly lame and NO ONE could sing except Sarah Brightman and Anthony Stewart Head. I never thought I could see a musical and think "this would be so much better if it wasn't a musical", but Repo really would.

153 DUDE YES. all the hate for that movie makes me so sad - it wasn't the best adaptation, but it was true to the spirit of the series and so much of it was both intact and completely awesome. Stephen Fry voicing the Guide! Bill Nighy as Slartibartfast! Vogon poetry, Marvin, Eddie the computer, the dolphin song! and Mos Def, and Sam Rockwell.. ♥

117. Kerry/Edwards! Yes! I sometimes forget about them, but yes, I was active in political fandom four years ago. I shipped them so hard. But the fandom died when they lost, because it hurt so fucking much. And now, well, they've both moved on to other things.

144. I agree with you, the presidency is very serious. I actually found it easier to ship wildly before the election, when it was all only a possibility. On the other hand, political fandom kept me sane for quite a while back then, and I still don't feel like leaving. It's an escape valve for me when srs bsns politics starts feeling too serious and I need cheering up. (I may wander away as the novelty wears off and I stop being stunned every few days that we actually elected the man. IDK.)
