You should see the TV series it's great. It's out on DVD. As for liking the movie cause you haven't see it, I wouldn't worry about that. The versions are different from each other and IMNSHO shouldn't be compared.

I'm one of those people who prefers to only read happy-ending fics. But let's all be honest here - do you see Torchwood ending in anything other than tragedy and death? Ianto and Jack have what they have while they can have it, but even IF Ianto somehow survives working for Torchwood for very much longer, he's still going to die and Jack's not. It's gonna break my heart when it happens, but it will happen. That's just how it is.
