The Jack/Ianto fandom is kind of hilarious because oh god, all you fandom fluffbunny fangirls who seriously write that kind of fic? You would NEVER, EVER survive in any fandom in which this fabulous pairing was not handed to you on a silver canon platter.

Dear fangirls: go find a ship based in subtext. Go get vetted in a fandom in which you do not get to regularly see your ship make out on screen. We'll see what you're like when you get back. ;)

Thank you. Yes. I've been of the mind for a while that this is the first big fandom for a lot of Jack/Ianto fanthings and they quite don't know how to handle canon slash. They don't know how to appreciate it, and just take it all the wrong way, destroying characterization in the process.

My last fandom was a musical. The same thing happened every time, unless you were watching the actors and read into it (or you happened to know the actor playing Mark and ask him to do slashy things at his last show, but that's a really rare occasion).

And I had to walk three miles in the snow to get school. Uphill. Both ways. >_>

First off, that song needs to be renamed to "Everyone's a Little Racially Prejudice" and second off no. It is racist and all, but it can't even do that right. Why is America blonde? America should have brown hair and be fat and scarf down hotdogs and hamburgers all the time, and only the Nordic countries and Russia should be blonde anyway. Holland should be high and always with those damn tulips and windmills and most African countries should all look like savage mask wearing warrior tribes (except Egypt, guess how they should be).

161. I, for the most part, agree. Most of the time the drama that does occur at a con is mostly caused by idiots being idiots (alcohol may or may not be involved). The type that would be stupid weather they were at a con or not. A good lot of the people I interact with at a con have generally been incredibly awesome and I still keep in touch with most of them. Sad that I can only go to a handful a year.

Now the pre-con stress and post con edrama, that's the worst.

108. Honestly I didn't like it that much either. I like what it could have been a lot more than what it actually was. Because of a friend on my f-list, though, I got into about half the music. :/ But I still think as musicals go, it's pretty shitty.

Yesyesyes. It seemed to me like some people wanted the movie to be a beat-for-beat adaptation of the book. I love that they changed some stuff up, because in my opinion the movie is very close to the overall feeling of the books and if they'd stayed completely the same it would've been boring.

I feel like a hypocrite, though, because I'm still trying to get through the old TV series. It's really funny, but the special effects. . .man, it's just aged badly.
