1) Where was I when prop 8 was passed? Maybe not in America, yes? Because obviously all Avatar fans are American.

2) I have ranted about prop 8 even though I'm not American, and as I couldn't vote, I donated what little money I had to causes it affected.

3) I can care about racism in the media and homophobia, thank you very much.

4) I barely care about the Avatar film. I'm fairly sure it will suck no matter who they cast. That does not stop me being pissed about the casting for a few reasons. It's racist being the main main one. Lesser reasons are an obvious sign that they don't care about the material they are handling, ruining the look of the show, and just who they casted (Jesse and twilight guy? Please.) It is easy to have multiple reasons to be angry about something. Just because people say they have in mind certain actors, doesn't mean they don't care about the racism. I don't think people really believe that even if they replaced the cast, they are going to get their choice of actor.

5) White people aren't allowed to care about racism? If we show signs of caring it means it because they are messing with our FAP material? Does this mean that straight people who care about prop eight are only concerned about not being able to realistically marry of their slash pairing of choice in their fic? I didn't think so. Don't be an ass, and stop assuming why people are involved in a cause.

It's just their own style, seriously. And they are fully aware of that, especially in Holic's case.

Personally I absolutely adore their artwork, in my opinion it's very unique. Real people don't look like that? Yeah, that's right, but do real people use magic and travel trough dimensions? Please, don't look for things like realism in CLAMP's work.

150. If I'm reading this right, you need to talk to your spouse. If it's something that can be worked on (unhappy sex life), then communication is the key. if it's not something that can be fixed (it sounds to me like you're someone who recently found out you're gay via yaoi) then s/he deserves to know.

156. I don't get why people are blaming fandom for "ruining their lives". To take a more extreme example, it's not the alcohol's fault that the alcoholic's life is ruined, yes? Blaming the drink is only shifting the blame. If fandom's become something that takes a disproportionate place in your life, or is having effects you're unhappy with, then get help and get out. Accept responsibility for your life.

159. IDK, it's sort of like asking "when do you become one of the popular kids?" Very, very subjective. For example, in a two-person fandom, everyone would be a BNF. I think it's kind of silly how we categorize ourselves that way, but humans will be humans.

Too-sexualized Katara is disturbing. The character-warping is disturbing. The Aang-hate is disturbing. The hypocrisy and double-standards are disturbing.

And the people who usually go "EWWWWWWW!" over Kataang are the same people who usually turn Katara into some shallow romantically mature, too-sexy woman in a 14-year old's body. LOL.

Umm, excuse me, but I put a lot of time and effort into protesting Prop 8 and resisting it's passage by spreading the word about it. This issue is completely seperate, but it has also given me a much greater awareness about the state of Asian/Asian American representation in the media, as well as those of other minority races. Don't even try to say that I don't care, because I freaking CARE.

EDIT: Also, yeah, I'm white. I practically glow in the dark. So I'm not allowed to care about racism? I think you really need to get your head on straight about this issue.

I think it's pretty shitty of you to say that you need to be Asian to care about Asian issues or racism/discrimination in general. Do you need to be gay to care about prop 8?

120 - If that's Eichi, I didn't like him much either, but it wasn't because of his age, it was because of his actions. And well, how Mitsuki idolized him when she really didn't know much about him at all, or the kind of person he was, or anything. But he "served his purpose" and allowed Mitsuki to grow up and finally live her own life, and if there's anything to be admired, it's that she was able to let him go.

157 - Eh, she was KIND of her own person. She still saw herself as mature (and a martyr) even thouh she wasn't. She thought she was doing something good for her airheaded mom (who I liked loads better in the movie than in the books), but all she was doing was being selfish and whiny. And her attitude toward Charlie always infuriated me. She never had a good reason for treating him the way she did. I don't understand how a girl could grow up someplace and miss it so much but put up with leaving for the sake of someone else and yet... not have ANY friends back there, any real reasons to miss the place beyond THE WEATHER. But yeah, I do like how she's ordinary looking, for the most part. I think the Entertainment Weekly cover that came out before the movie kind of made both actors look bad, because she was NOT supposed to look glamorous, and RPattz was... well, just plain weird looking on that cover.
