154. Oh, heh. I could have written this! Still, like I could HELP being two years old when the classic series finished? But anyway. My Dad watched DW from the first episode that aired in Australia (in 1965, when he was nine) and my Mum watched it from somewhere in the early seventies (early teens). They both still watch it, both still love it, and Mum's actually switched her 'favourite Doctor ever' from Tom Baker to David Tennant.

(Which is weird as, after having watched a good chunk of the classic series, Tennant is second to Davison as my favourite. That's... backwards, the fifty-year-old having Tennant as a favourite and the twenty-two-year-old liking Davison better XD)

Anyway! Us new school fans can't help being born later. Just because my first serial was Bad Wolf doesn't make me any less of a fan than my Dad (whose first was Unearthly Child).

142. I love all these Watchmen secrets. The whole story has been eating my brain since the premier. But I do agree with you about the ending, I was right along with Dan in the "NOOOOOO!" Overall, the movie definitely had a better ending than the comic.

155. I've been switching between all those terms, but mostly "comic." I think people had less of a problem with comparing Dark Knight to the "comics" because Batman comics are still going on (plus a million spin offs), whereas Watchmen was a one-time story.

Unfortunately there is a lot of backlash against "new fen" in a lot of fandoms due to the influx of what's seen as screaming, giggly idiotic children in older fandoms that are usually full of adults. And while there's a large chunk of 'em that do fit that stereotype, there are also the good fans we want to keep who aren't chasing the new shiny thing, but actually enjoy the show for the show. Welcome aboard :)
