If it's the first, I feel for you - some of those are kind of painful and padded-out, although there are a couple that really needed that time to tell the story. 149 ??? A 'ship is a 'ship. If you like a slash 'ship then you see some chemistry between a couple characters - you don't need slash for every single show, go with what attracts you. Could be slash in one, het in another. What bugs me is this insistance on slashing like crazy even if there is no chemistry, no spark whatsoever. You have to slash just because it's two guys in the same show? NO.

149 -- I'm the same way. I like far more het pairings than slash. I suspect it's because I'm heterosexual myself, so I'm probably going to fandom hell for showing my privilege by having a wider variety of canon which caters to my preference. But I don't think preferring het (or just plain old friendship) to slash makes me or anyone else a hypocrite.

Last year, I went to a talk by Brian McNaught. He stated it as fact, and very matter-of-factly (i.e., wasn't trying to impress or shock the audience), when listing modern day gay and lesbian role models.

I think it's more open secret than rumor nowadays.

Thank you. I agree completely. Harley/Ivy was the reason I got into American comics/fandom. I had seen episodes/comics with Harley and the Joker before, and it always pissed me off how he treated her, and how she still stuck by him. It was really depressing because I know a lot of people who are in relationships like that.

The fact that Ivy came along and saved her from the Joker really renewed my faith in the fandom, and it's now my favorite ship as far as American comics go. =D

Things like arguing over fictional crap like everything listed in this secret, as well as shipwars and the like are the most pointless things in the world.

If it matters that much to you? Go out and fight with other people that share your view points and make an impact on the real world instead of sitting at home behind your computer to flail at people how Kodomo no Omocha is disgusting, or Shounen authors are misogynistic pigs because their female characters aren't fierce and independent like ~*~real women~*~ are.

I - almost - could have written that secret ^^

I've loved the show for as long as I remember - some moments I was crazy about it, some others less, but it was still there. I used to watch it with my dad when I was a kid. I've always known about the slash (never bothered me though, I've been reading slash online for 10+ years), but I've never been tempted to read fics, somehow I think because their relationship (Kirk/Spock/McCoy) really was satisfying as it was/is.

And then, there was that secret sometimes last week about a K/S fic ... :P

113: OMFG YES. I saw that same page and groaned and laughed to myself at the end as I realized what village he was talking about. Ah, Richard. How we love thee.

130: That's essentially what my fiance and I were like the first time we saw a certain character called Zhang He in DW5. Zhang He is beautiful (and loves bragging about it), is obsessed about all things beautiful, dresses in clothes that would make Richard Simmons look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. And is also a guy. He's one of my favorite characters because of it.

146: I love you and I wish I could shake your hand. It doesn't make you a bad fan - in fact, I think the pairing makes a LOT of sense. They'd certainly have a fun time chatting about the world and its problems over a glass of bourbon. XD

To this day, I still giggle everytime he says 'beautiful' (which is a lot, obviously). XD
