119- Hee! Yeah, I always kind of thought so, too. He was pretty fangirly, and he couldn't even bring himself to agree with Laurie that Eddie sucked for what he did to her mom? Really? Definite signs of a crush.

135- Don't know who Cho is, but Dogbert!!!! <3

140- The thing is, S4 Sam is no different to me than any other year's Sam. I think his undesirable traits are a little more stark because he hasn't had any gentling influence for some time, but I think his character development has been so consistent and so perfect from season one to now that I can hardly believe it when people say they don't know why he's doing what he's doing.

He's doing what he's doing because he's SAM, and because when Sam is confronted with failure or loss or guilt, he externalizes it and seeks bloody vengeance, regardless of what he has to do to get it. He's his father's son, always has been. And he needs to go through this crucible, and see the folly of this path once and for all, if he is to fully leave it behind him and help do what has to be done so that he can leave this life once and for all.

145- It's not hard to understand at all. Go see it. :)

147- I effing love that movie, for those same reasons. Gorgeous.

148- I totally agree. That boy never could've been fixed. *pets him* Poor thing.

157- What's weird to me is that the idea that there's a top and a bottom in every relationship. Um, really? I don't find it weird to think that it's hot sexually (I like that sort of play in bed), but the designation of every relationship that way strikes me as kind of twisted.

112. I'm in the fandom and I still don't get it. The most recent episode is when he first got a personality and it's still not enough to call him a character.

139. Agreed! I've always wondered why people thought he was hot, even as far back as Lazarus Rising, but he's just gotten less attractive over the episodes. It's even more funny now because Julie (Anna) did a really great, spot on impersonation of his "turn and stare and have no emotion" face at the most recent Eyecon. She did it better.

140. I love Sam this season. I love seeing him pushed to his moral limit of what he'll do to save his brother's life. I miss Dean, who didn't cry at the end of every episode and actually cared about his brother enough to try and see his side and wasn't too scared to want to stick up for Sam. I want Dean to mask his pain with bad jokes, and enjoy the simple things like burgers and magic fingers and stop listening to people other than his brother because YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE. Why does Dean get a free pass? For all we know, Sam died and went to hell and was tortured too! He's just not bitching about it.

The prevalence of this sentiment is starting to scare me. We're only up to season 2 here (thank you, stupid TVNZ) but I really love the show and I'm starting to get nervous about watching more because I don't want to be disappointed when (if) I get to S4.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's hardly a majority sentiment (it's just, the unhappy people are always the ones who yell the loudest), and it's not nearly as bad as they're making it out to be. :) Judge it for yourself... I'm loving this season, and I thought I'd never love the show again after some of the crap from season 3. :)

Listen, I don't want to pick a fight and I have no idea who you are, but have you considered the idea that if you leave every fandom you're involved in with people hating you, you are actually making fan communities less welcoming and fun? Hostility towards things you perceive as unjust is still hostility, especially since you seem to be aiming both barrels at individuals rather than mindsets and social modes.

If you're crusading for some self-defined idea of FANDOM JUSTICE and nothing much is changing but you feel satisfied that you've damaged people you perceive as unworthy, it's possible you may be a self-important fan.

I guess I can't say because I don't know what fandoms you've been in, but if you leave a fandom with more negativity than you found it, you are not doing anyone any favors.

112. No, I really don’t think they can. I guarantee you that if the actors for Uriel and Castiel had been swapped, the Spn fandom would be worshipping Uriel instead and he’d be a regular next season. And if they’d cast a woman in that role, the hate would have been epic.

126. I don’t consider myself a feminist because I don’t really know what that means anymore, but I’m a girl and I like it too, though it’s not as good as it used to be. I don’t get why some people think it’s misogynistic. Maybe I’m thick-skinned, but I just don’t see it. The running gag of Meg-hate is stupid, but I don’t think that counts.

140. Agreed. That’s one reason I quit watching the show and decided season 4 doesn’t exist. As far as I’m concerned, Dean went to hell at the end of season 3, Sam got him out somehow (there are some really good fics about this), and they’re back on the road together. No angels. No brother vs. brother. No demonizing Sam to pump up Dean and Castiel. That’s my canon and I’m sticking to it.

160. I don’t get the ‘you can’t like something everyone else likes’ meme that seems to run through a lot of fandom. You like what you like. I’ve gotten behind reading Naruto, but I still like it and intend to catch up when I get the time. Even if it’s omg popular, the horror! And ‘mainstream’ series have their benefits in terms of dvd and manga releases, not mention lots of fic. I wish more series I like were mainstream and popular, so there’d be more fic and they’d get a US release.

148 -- BEN!!! Yes! He is a heartbreaker indeed. His death scene was amazing. He went from pissed/fighting to terrified to sad little kid and it was incredible. That episode really stays with you.
