103~ Unconvincing? :/

.. wow, really, I can't see why. She is everything but bad as her role.

117~ God, about shipping in the Live-action movie... I really will not care xD . I'd lol so hard if Shyamalan put some Zuko/Katara shipping taste in the movie xD

161~ Kill for see him in a concert again?.. man, I could kill him just for what he did to himself.

Sociopaths make boring villains. Crazy people make boring villains. Evil people make boring villains.

Azula is all three, and little more, and get powerup after powerup after powerup throughout her tenure as Little Bad.

141. Well, that makes perfect sense to me. Graduating from college didn't improve my life short-term (if anything, it worsened it--I LOVED college), but playing a new Phoenix Wright game always does.

145. Despite what the douchebag screenwriter would have you believe, you really don't need to "understand" it on any particularly deep level. Go see it; it's great fun.

106--
People in fandom are naturally unaccepting of those who point out when the injustices you mention are done. Because of this, drama and wank happens, though it's likely not your fault. Still... try to keep the criticism to a necessary minimum. Sometimes people aren't as bad as they appear. And really, you can't play police in fandom or in real-life. Don't take that responsibility on yourself; trust me, it's not worth it. Also: kudos on being anti-"tl;dr". I FREAKIN' HATE THAT.

109--
I can relate to this secret far more than you know.

THANK YOU, GODDAMMIT.

Those "brow things" are called wrinkles, OP. People have those when they can't afford botox or plastic surgery.

[identity profile] rinnia.livejournal.com 2009-03-25 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
CHERNABOG! <3 Oh wow, I love him. Always have. When I was little, I had a figure of him that I called my husband, sprayed with perfume, and carried around with me all wrapped up in a handkerchief. I always turned off the tape when the stupid Ave Maria singers came in and broke up his party. Poor Cherny.

I loved the SkiFree yeti too. Never made it far in that game because I was fond of veering right into him so he'd have a good meal. I was a Nightmare Fuel-proof kid, I guess.

hey, 101! I go to Wesleyan! I am not in any of the fandoms in your secret, and am not in fact at all anime/Japan oriented, but be reassured that there ARE people at Wes reading Fandom Secrets and having fanish opinions and stuff. And people who do your specific thing, too, I'm sure, but not me.

103. So long as she's a pretty convincing bitch.

106. People shouldn't hate you for that unless they're part of the problem. Or do you get random "lol if you don't like it you do it better" crap?

109. Everyone ships Pinky/Brain, man!

117. In after racial shuffle casting wank. (Asians aside, at least cast things to look vaguely like the characters, rather than making the dark-skinned nations light-skinned and the light-skinned nation dark-skinned for no damned reason, what the hell?)

119. Hilarity a terrific reason for any ship or semiship. Rock on!

123. Oh god. Well, look at the bright side - your fandom has lost some deadwood, and with any luck they'll be leaving Watchmen for whatever the next big thing is.

126. Fandom does not have to perfectly mirror every aspect of your personality. Maybe something just makes you laugh.

127. Not everyone with a crappy childhood turns out the same way. Wish Rorschach had a grandma like you, though.

132. Brunettes are only statistically as boring as the rest of the population. Woo!

145. Just watch it. You don't need the validation of random people on the internet to enjoy something - if all else fails, lurk. And the fact that you already want to understand it puts you ahead of the game.

162. Hell yes, he's so awesome in interviews - wouldn't have a beer, but it'd definitely be fun to hang out with him.

not secret. Well, Adrian is actually likely to have sex with someone, anyway...

106. Social justice for the win! Though it should always be handled with tact - and if necessary, an alternative must be offered. The best critics are constructive as well as destructive, after all - what's the point of tearing down the broken world around us if we do not build a better one in it's place?

147. The first time I saw that, I was creeped. But that's because it hit one of my phobias (memory loss, personality loss). Why do you...? (Still, I watched it more than once just because Disney!Hook was my favorite person ever as a kid and I felt I owed it to him to try)

157. What I want to know is why people get so touchy about what turns other people on...

158. I loved that as a kid. Terrified by it, yeah, but loved it. ^^ Thanks for bringing up good memories, though this comment probably doesn't help in any useful way.

147 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-03-26 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Your have a phobia of memory/personality loss? Why's that? I'm honestly intrigued!

Yes, Disney!Hook is such a good character, I think Dustin Hoffman did quite a good job portraying him in such a manner. I actually had to think about why the movie upset me so much for quite a while before I figured it out! D:

< life story >
I didn't get to be a child for very long- barely eight years before a little something happened which made me grow up far too quickly; thus making me very attached to a place such as Neverland.

But, that coupled with me being alone for the majority of my days and kind of longing such a happy, close, loving family makes it quite the distressing cocktail, I guess!

123. I smell some elitism.

130. I’m straight yet the thought of the c0ck squicks me too. And I feel so weird for it.

141. Do you mean Gyakuten Kenji? If not, then neither can I, but only if Maya and Pearl are in it.

145. Here, allow me to say it in caps. MOST OF US – WHO ARE NOT ELITIST ASSHOLES – DO NOT JUDGE THE BANDWAGONERS. I may not be speaking for everybody, but we usually prefer people read the comic eventually – before or after seeing the movie, it doesn’t matter, but for the love of god I’d like to see where people are getting this ‘bawww Watchmen fandom is persecuting us bawww’ attitude from.

157. If you did a little research on the psychology of sex, I’m sure you’d find your answer. Google is your friend!

128. Us Blue Beetle fans?* We llluuuuuuurve this show. (I have to admit, though, Aquaman is my favorite guest star. I am sorry Jaime! You are ten times more awesome in your Comic, which is saying something since you are awesome in the show as well) *Disclaimer: perhaps not all of us?

133. Okay, I am not sure what you are talking about, but you get +10 points for the way you made this secret. It has my stamp of approval.

(I am twenty-two years old, I've seen Fantasia maybe fifty times, I have NEVER, EVER made it all the way through that scene. I didn't even know Ava Maria was on after it until LAST YEAR. Got the DVD for Christmas and watched it for the first time since I was eight... ...turned off after Dance of the Hours.)

132: Um yeah... if I had a nickel every time I've heard/read those phrases "I look just like [haruhi]" "[haruhi] changed my life" and "[haruhi] is awesome" Though I still wonder how people can like her from just the anime... she's a troglodyte in the anime.

154: No offense but, you might need serious help. I'm not joking and really hope you 1) read this 2) take it to heart becuase getting that emotionally involved in an RP can be dangerous.

156: how is this a bad thing? Twitards start smoking and kill themselves. It's the first glimmer of hope the world has seen for the past decade!

101-I think that's very normal!

103-Really, how come?

106-Err, I don't know if you're being honest, exactly. Maybe what you call pointing out in justice is actually just not giving other people a break and having a victim complex.

110-Go you!

112-No, because he's not a shitty character, pretty or not.

126-Another unicorn spotted!

128-But people love it, don't they?

140-I don't think they're ruining him.

149-Why, is that the Sorting? Like you want him in a different house?

Because sociopaths make boring villains unless they bring something new to the genre, and Azula doesn't, her story arc consists of one powerup after another and the things she pulls off read as false because they are patently unrealistic for a fourteen-year-old to accomplish.

Which wouldn't have bothered me half as much if they hadn't already showed us that they had the balls to give us adults as villains in a kids' show with Zhao and Long Feng.
