157- Cognitive dissonance? The modern woman hearing mixed messages and working them out via fiction? On one hand, we're encouraged towards "womanly" behavior. (Which is still consciously or unconsciously expected to be submissive) On the other hand, we're also told that we can be powerful, sexy, whatever. (But if we go too far, we get labeled) When we can't win for losing, I think some women just enjoy a momentary exercise of some kind of control.

Truthfully, I don't think it's so much a question of "who" so much as it is a question of "how." I think the problem is the difference in interpretation of the character (in this case, Rorschach was interpreted as having a very gruff, BaleBatman-esque voice--which I understand Moore himself also reads Rorschach in a similar voice--whereas I interpreted him sounding more like Jeffrey Combs's The Question in Justice League Unlimited, albeit also a trite more gruff-sounding) as well as the scenes that needed to be scrapped for running time. Even though a chunk of the fandom thinks that the movie made Rorschach seem more human, I thought it was missing some critical scenes that really pronounced his humanity, such as the scene where he encountered the prostitute mother while getting his costume in his apartment.

I already know JEH can pull off the gruff, crazy Rorschach well, but I really wanted to see more of how he could pull off the more vulnerable, sympathetic Rorschach (which he did in the end with his death scene, granted), not just through scenes such as the aforementioned, but even smaller scenes like him unable to fight back the cops at all as he did in the comic--though that's more likely the fault of Snyder than it is the actor.

151: SO true, that scene scared me to death when I was little (the scene with the queen turning into the witch topping it, though) but now, I can imagine it's still a very spooky situation. I'd hate to be Snowwhite in that forest at that time.

158: I watched Fantasia last week and that part is still spooky to me. I don't like ghosts and scary demons and I find that Disney really did well with making ghouls in that film.
