Ugh I'm glad I never joined that fandom. Laurie was one of the few characters in watchmen I felt I could relate to. What's wrong with having ideals? Everyone loves Rorsach for his but since Laurie's are more "normal" (like being anti-rape) she's apparently a dumbbitch?

I feel like for posterity's sake I should add that I never saw the movie, just read the comic.

I agree wholeheartedly. I mean, Rorschach was cool, I guess, but I tend to like the characters I feel I have something in common with more, and Laurie fit the bill perfectly.

I love this book. 'Old soldiers searching for the sea..." that whole sequence just killed me. And of course everything else about it (there's a misquote from Melmouth in it though, which kind of bugs me as I read that book only because it was mentioned in this one, ha.) But wonderful! What an odd thing to see on F!S.

Didn't it make you just fascinated in antiquarian books and book detectivery? I want to be a book detective. Meet the Devil. Fall in love. All that good stuff.

120 - Not even the artwork. I don't understand what people see in the artwork. I always hear that it's soooo unique and beautiful and whatnot... but I look at it and everyone looks the same (with different hairdo) everyone always has the same expression on their face (which reminds me of Ulquiorra from Bleach). Not even the costumes are interesting.

This. Sammy's the type to just keep holding it in because he figures his pain is nothing compared to the literal hell his brother suffered. The problem is it doesn't matter he wasn't literally in hell -- for his psyche, what he went through was serious, it doesn't matter if it wasn't THE most pain in the world. It's affected him, and with everything on top of it he has to either get help from someone (unlikely) or get on some medication to help him get started back on track (....even more unlikely).
