... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

You know the thing which bugs me about Homer's The Odyssey? Odysseus's dog was still waiting for him when he got home. He'd been gone for ten years of the Trojan War, plus ten years of Odyssey-ing bouncing around the Med, plus whatever the travel and logistics time was gearing up for the Trojan War, just how the fuck old was that dog? How do I get a pupper that lives for nigh on thirty years?

I really wish Netflix would pick up Rememberwhenyoutried's "Sisters of Dorley" YA internet novel for a series, but it would probably be too weird for them. Plus I think they've given up adapting internet novels anyway. (Avail on AO3 )

Say what you want about Doctor Who in the mid eighties, but I just love their robot designs in that period. Drathro from Trial of a Timelord, and the cleaners from Paradise Towers both look awesome. That is the future-design language I wanted.

I don't know why so many Star Wars fans were creaming their pants over seeing Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett; he might be a fan fave, but he is not this fan's fave. Most overrated character in the whole damn franchise.

I loved the 80s Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. My favourite character from it was Shelia, the girl with the invisibility cloak, and I always used to pretend to be her when playing. Sometimes I look back on that and wonder if I'm quite as cismale as I think I am?

I love Hercules in New York, sometimes I watch it for being so bad its good. Sometimes I just watch it and enjoy it unironically too.

What motivates me to keep going with my physical rehab, especially on the tough days? Is it my physical therapist? Is it the thought of being able to one day run again? Is it the wealth of inspirational tv and movie characters cheering me on? Nope. It is a mental Image of Windsor Davies' character Sgt. Major "shut up" Williams from "It Ain't Half Hot, Mum" standing behind me screaming at me for being a pansy. Yay, it is a win for a horribly racist and homophobic tv show. I'm fucked up.

Normally I hate shows built on forced conflict, moody staring, and miscommunication, but I love Cobra Kai and it does all of those. Difference between that and all other shows is the silent, moody, staring manages to be full of characters motivations, the conflict actually furthers the plot, and the miscommunication comes from actual characterisation, and it isn't all just a way to pad the episode out and stop everything being resolved early.

Someone once said Son of the White Mare is 'Hungarian Dragon Ball Z' and I haven't been the same since. The former movie and the latter anime have fused into a single trippy entity in my subconscious; if I ever dream about one it's inevitably in the art style of the other.

I think every movie franchise and tv show should have one child centric, goofy, episode or movie in it. To stop the fanbase getting all up themselves with the grimdark and serious business mentality. All of them.

Sometimes, I want to take up the offer of AO3's code to build an archive of Morally Pure and Totally Unobjectionable Fics. This would just be so I could reject everything anyone submitted, because I'm petty and I'd enjoy rejecting people who would submit fic to such a self-righteous sounding archive.

I've been in the Naruto fandom for a very long time, and although I have been into multiple ships since the early days - Naruto x Sasuke was the one ship I just couldn't get into for the longest time.
However, recently I have gotten interested in this ship largely because of how much of a meme Sasuke has become and pointing out all the ridiculousness of the series that has made the headcanons for this pair much more obvious.

I hate the reboot/revival/waaay later sequel trend. They seem to operate by undoing everything good about the original. I hate how couples are broken up and friends are estranged the most. I also dislike how everything they did in the original to defeat the baddies* was useless, because turns out they're back.

* also nonvillian types of conflict are reset

I'm not sure which is worse: People hating on a movie in a way that shows they've never seen it or people hating on a movie in a way that implies they bought a LOT of tickets.

Gilgamesh's prophetic dreams about the coming of Enkidu ("An axe fell to earth and I loved it like a wife") are the slashiest thing I have ever seen. You modern kids need to up your game.

At some point in the years since first reading Robin McKinley's Sunshine, my mental image of Rae Seddon went from a white redhead to a Black one, as I found out on my most recent reread. Now I'm sad that if there's ever a live action adaptation she'll probably be played by a white actress.

I know people hate songfic, but I wish people would start doing it to classical music again. Classical music gives so much emotional range. Imagine a grief fic paired with the 3 movements of Moonlight Sonata or Hungarian Rhapsody 2 about some climatic conflict! The italian names of the movements would instantly give it elevated cred. In a good writer's hands, it would be amazing no matter the fandom.

I love Devil in a Blue Dress (movie mostly, but the book is great also). Denzel and Don Cheadle are amazing. I miss 100 min "low" stakes power jockeying where the little guy and his shady friends have to deal with absolute mess so much.

But I cannot get over the title of Devil in a Blue Dress. I don't think calling the lady a devil is warranted, and it feels like that noir thing where the movie implicitly blames the mysterious lady for all the subsequent bullshit for being mysterious. She's pretty bad, but there are significantly worse devils.

[Buffy the Vampire Slayer] The line "It's always sudden." completely ruins 'The Body' for me. It reminds me of the smug, self-satisfied 'wisdom' I hated to hear when my own mother died. (And I don't believe Tara would say that.)
