Is there any other class than vanguard or sniper? I mean vanguard makes insanity so easy I had to check several times whether I didn't turn down the difficulty without meaning too.

Sniping can be fun too but you need to be patient and able to aim fast, which I'm not that great at.

Agreed on both.

Re: Recommend me some music to listen to while grinding out levels on a video game

It's not an album per se but it's video game related. Have you heard of Miracle of sound?

Any album by Placebo would work for me. (And Depeche Mode, but it might be called sad if you were to listen closely to the lyrics. At least the songs that are not about sex or BDSM)

If you're looking for something a bit more upbeat and more pop, there's Years&Years that are pretty good. I love both of their albums even though I only listen to Rock, Metal and Indie stuff usually.

Italobrothers are one of my new discoveries, and they seem like they'd be great for listening to during fast-paced games.

Thank you secret-maker!

My Chemical Romance's "Danger Days" album is loud and...well, maybe "happy" isn't the most accurate term but it's fairly upbeat and has a "never give up" vibe.

It's so random that it's holds up pretty well. I'm sure there's some early 00's messiness but I still enjoy it and sometimes it still feel very topical. What's nice is that Master Shake is so narcissistic that it's pretty hard for an watcher to identify with him, so the show never feels like it's validating him in any way, which is sometimes where other adult swim shows lost me and feel dated now. It's satirical but it doesn't feel like early 00's "ironic" humor.

The reasonsable/unreasonable dichotomy? I get it! It certainly didn't help that it felt like they were parenting (badly in the case of Master Shake) Meatwad together.

I love Hard Candy Christmas! Growing up, it was tradition to play Dolly and Kenny's Christmas album while opening presents on Christmas morning (my mom owns it on cassette tape, lol), but I'd never heard Hard Candy Christmas before. The first year I didn't go back to my hometown for Christmas, I downloaded the album, and whoever made the torrent had added Hard Candy Christmas to the song line-up. It ended up being my favorite of the whole track list.

I also prefer Dolly's version of I Will Always Love You. Whitney had an incredible voice, but that particular vocal style isn't really my thing. I really vibe with the tremulous vulnerability of Dolly's voice. I love how Dolly's voice can have such a bright, clear quality and yet sound fragile and sad at the same time.

Still don't understand the point of watching flora slowly die in a vase

I've come round to this point of view as I've grown older myself. At least I can put them on the compost heap when they're done. It's the circle of life.

I did hear once on the radio about a woiman who felt she'd finally made it to adulthood and had got everything sussed out. She was 96 at the time.

That puts it really well. And I'm seriously impressed that you've used your username for this; I daren't even do that!

I find myself randomly quoting bits from this now and then-- usually 'I don't need no instructions, to know how to ROCK', or maybe the fargate, but Meatwad's 'got smushed up against a chicken' is something I'll probably never get out of my head.

Yeah, I had such a soft spot for Murray, and then he showed up as a voice on Bob's Burgers and we were like Oh! Murray!, but now he's got a legit HIT on his hands, it's just nice to see. Love that for him.

i'm playing ME Andromeda for the first time right now and yeah, it's safe to skip. the characters start out as hella flat and you have to dedicate hours upon hours for them to be fleshed out, which i personally find irritating since the OG trilogy did so well with characters and personal motivations right out from the gate, so it's a weird aspect to take a step backward on.

it's pretty and the combat is fun, tho, so i guess if you get around to it eventually it has that going for it.

Heh thanks. I guess I didn't see why any rational person would take extreme issue with this.

Getting to a place where you’re ready to become a parent is a massive undertaking for anyone who isn’t rich. But if you’re aro/ace, earning minimum wage, with minimal family, zero inheritance coming your way, and your mental health isn’t great, then the deck is literally stacked against you. If I wanted to be a parent, I should've started actively working towards that goal in my early twenties. By which I mean cultivating long-term, trusting relationships with other aro/ace people who might one day want to co-parent with me; learning about investing and squirreling away as much money as I possibly could into investments; moving somewhere less expensive to live so that I could save more; pursuing as much subsidized therapy as I could possibly get my hands on. The sort of stuff that takes a long-ass time to bear fruit, but that is basically imperative when you're poor, aro/ace, mentally not 100%, and would like to have a kid.

This is not at all the fic you're looking for, but out of curiosity, have you read Away Childish Things by lettered?

https://archiveofourown.org/works/16052816/chapters/37478033

Asking because it heavily explores the idea of shitty parents and what they do to you, as well as how love, kindness, and support can do quite a lot to untangle the knots that shitty parenting ties one up in. It's straight up not the fic you're asking for, to be clear. But I thought I'd mention it, because it has a heavy focus on some of the elements you seem to be looking for, and it is insanely, stupidly, deliriously well written. I don't even usually like the core trope at play in this fic, and it still makes my fanfic GOAT list.

Also, the very brief summary makes it sound like the focus is on Harry, but without spoiling anything, I will say that the focus is actually very much fifty-fifty. And the summary only covers what happens in the first third of the fic.

I've seen Rhys in a lot of little parts here and there, but I'm such a Bob's Burgers nerd that my first thought when I see his name is always, "Rebuttal, yeah. Where I'm from we call it buttle rubbies." XD

Oooh, I could have written this secret, OP. I'm struggling with this so hard right now (even though I too don't have any real relationship prospects lined up. I just... am thinking about it a lot. :/).

If you like Florence, you might like Zola Jesus, her new album is good. And Chelsea Wolfe, Emma Ruth Rundle, Tori Amos etc.

I suddenly find myself craving six very specific people being struck by lightning and flash cooked from the inside out.

More good romantic fiction, because I re-read one of my fave stories and read a great fic recently, now I want more to keep my feet off the ground.
