Nothing is like NiF. Just embrace some aspects of it.
BL? Till Death Tear Us Apart, Guardian, etc.
Actors? The Eagle Shooting Heroes, When A Snail Loves, Unbeatable, etc.
Same producers and actors? The Disguiser.
Polical intrigue? The Advisors Alliance.

That sounds delicious!

Eh, when it comes to superheros, I think power levels absolutely do matter. The nature and strength of various abilities is a large part of what defines the characters.

I like subs because I can eat them. If you don't like them, feel free to send them my way.

I don't know what you've been smoking, but it sounds pretty powerful. You might want to cut back on it.

Depends on a lot of factors...

Live action or animated? Live action being dubbed is usually a lot more obvious and distracting. Though occasionally that can be a benefit...
Genre? Applies mostly to live action - stuff like most kaiju movies, b-level martial arts flicks, certain types of fantasy...the downsides of dubbing actually sort of add to the charm. If it's meant to be taken seriously, though...
Am I planning to pay full attention or do something else at the same time as consuming it? Obviously if I don't intend to pay full attention I want the one I can catch most of what's going on without looking at the screen. (Also tend to lean into genres that don't take much brainpower, thus fitting the above category.)
What are the original voices like? Mostly with animation, particularly anime. Give young characters ear-bleedingly shrill voices? That's a dub.
Conversely, what are the DUB voices like? Again, mostly animation, but if you give a serious character in a serious work a goofy voice like you'd find in a Loony Tunes cartoon, I'll stick to the original. (When this comes up in LA, it's mostly, you know, stuff where a 'bad' dub is actually a bonus.)
What is going on with my brain chemistry today? CAN I pay full attention to it, or am I a scatter brain who needs to have 3 things going at once, or am I maybe barely able to even handle one? Latter two cases, definitely dub, regardless of any of the above. (Or else watching something that was always in English. Probably that.)

On any given day, full-power Wanda is basically the one of the top 5 most powerful mutants in the comics-verse. She’s way out of the X-Men’s league.

That's what I thought, which is why this secret seems weird to me.

Dude what do you expect to happen? The French revolution in America?

DA
I always wondered why some people call it that! It doesn’t look anything like dog food to me but I’ve only ever seen it with the powdered sugar coating. We called it chocolate Chex mix when I was a kid lol I never heard the the name muddy buddies until like the last 10-15 years but it’s what most people seem to call it now. I like puppy chow better <3

AYRT

I didn't hear it called Muddy Buddies until I moved to the PNW. In the south it was always Puppy Chow. I only bought it from a store once, when my boss told me that it was commercially sold. It had never occurred to me that it would be, and I was curious how it would taste! Once was enough. Homemade is soooo much better (and it looks a lot like dog food before the powdered sugar).

From what I understand, the name is from around the 60s or so, when some dog food looked like this:

Hard disagree! What defines the characters is narrative logic, emotional logic and aesthetic logic. That can't and shouldn't be quantified in precise terms.

The reason that Spider-Man can lift a ton of mechanical wreckage up off himself to go save his aunt is *not* because he has some precisely-delineated level of strength that allows him to lift a specified weight. The reason he can do that is because the ability to do that - to push himself beyond physical boundaries to fulfill his responsibilities to the ones he loves - is a fundamental aspect of his character.

This movie was so tragic. Me sitting there crying into my popcorn over a fucking Godzilla movie. (even knowing the history of Godzilla/the allegory stuff etc, it still ripped my heart out)

NAYRT but I feel the same way about ANY language dubs. I know dubs have improved a LOT over the years, but the fact that lines are often still altered (even a little) to match mouth movements, and just something about the overall energy of dubs doesn't seem to match. I'll always prefer to watch something in its original language over a dub, but I don't care what anyone else does with what they're watching.

I put subtitles on even in my native language (which is English so it's almost always an option) because I have audio processing issues.

But whether I listen to the English dub if there is one or original language depends on which voices/voice acting I like better.

If I like both equally and enjoy the movie enough to own it, I sometimes watch both. I almost never listen to dubs in languages other than the original or English unless I'm trying to brush up on my crappy Spanish or French.

I don't feel guilt about eating food unless I count the way it gets produced- treating farm and factory workers badly, battery animal farming, shit like that. I haven't eaten meat for decades, but I don't have the time or money to vet everything else I eat. Wouldn't eat at Chick Fil'A even if I ate meat though.

I avoid foods the growers or factory workers actually ask consumers to boycott, though, if I hear about anything. Was sad to lose Annie's mac and cheese and frozen meals for union-busting bullshit.

I guess hot cheetos, takis, and fruit punch gatorade come closest on the "no redeeming nutritional value beyond calories" industrially produced garbage for me. I keep an emergency bottle of gatorade or two around for post-food poisoning or other pukey misery rehydration, and try not to buy crunchy hot cheetos or takis because I can make a family sized bag disappear in hours.

They should stick her on a deserted island and have Magneto keep an eye on her.

Well, I am not recommending you my favorite shows since you are probably one of those who does anything else instead of watching so whatever. You do you

Could it be Warrior by Donald E. McQuinn? It was first published in 1990 and is first part of a trilogy, The Moondark Saga, and Wanderer and Witch are the other parts.

Summary from Amazon:
In the grand landscape of the Pacific Northwest, two great kingdoms battle to rule the inlet sea. Gan Moondark is expected to one day rule the Dog People, but war and prophesy have a different fate in store for him.

The balance of power in the region is about to shift when a centuries old cryogenic crèche awakens. It brings to life military leaders from a long forgotten war, with weapons and technology unlike anything this world has ever seen.

Will these strangers help Gan Moondark start a new era of peace and prosperity? Or will they drive the three kingdoms further into brutality and war?

Here are a couple of different covers featuring a dog:

Subs
1) Audio work is major shitty right now
2) I prefer original acting. I do not need to catch all cultural nuances to understand when actor is doing their job properly. Also learning cultural differences is fun. It's not difficult to understand what sempai or oppa is. I don't need translation dumbing it down for me.
3) You either get jarring mouth not syncing effect or translation trying to match movement and sucking. It's noticeable in my language since our words tend to be longer than English so translators just cut out half of the original text.

But I have exception with American cartoons. I am sorry but voice work especially in older cartoons is so fucking bad. I would rather listen to dub

I am not Catholic to feel guilt about random shit.

I have fan with random cravings though. For example in spring I often crave kimchi like mad. Also I do love good crunchy food

+1000

The only movies where I accept VO is animation. Otherwise, it's subs all the way.

You know, I do remember there being a kerfuffle about Christian Bale playing Batman when he first got cast and how Batman is an American comic book character, but I have to think that was at least partly an excuse because some people always seem to get up in arms about anyone getting cast as Batman, but I will say there actually were a lot of British actors playing American in The Dark Knight Rises. But it did come up again, because for the next movie Heath Ledger was Joker and at around the same time Andrew Garfield was Spider-Man. It is kind of interesting how often they go outside the US when casting American comic book characters.

Lol get that stick out of your ass, bitch. I also wouldn't watch non-japanese media with Japanese dubs (like several people who play Genshin Impact this way). I think most dubs that are not in the original language are kind of awkward and, depending on the country in question, simply bad because some countries don't have well-trained voice actors.
