This is so weird to me. Kids have been participating in online fandom for at least the last 25 years or so but back then everyone claimed to be at least 18 and made a huge effort to act like they were, too. It was also normal to lie about details regardless of age and keep focus on fandom, not the personal. It’s so weird to me that children are just being children in fandom.

There's a distressing amount of people who still believe that animation = for kids. On top of a disturbing amount of people who just don't monitor what media their kids consume or what websites they go to.

I'm not deeply invested in wanting to see this air, but agree with you re: the editing. IMO, it'll likely be too messy and chopped up if they try to salvage it. I'm not even a hardcore BL fan, but it's sad how they're off the table now for cdramas.

As someone born in the 1980s, I have always been under the impression that most things were not known by the public at large. Some spaces may have whisper networks so word would get out but at most they were just rumors.

Because if the public knew they'd be repulsed! That's why some stories were filled with smoke and fog.
Like even in the 1990s they tried to keep Aaliyah's age a mystery while the media was filled with rumors about her dating R Kelly.

Bob Dylan dating and abusing young girls. Not surprising but disgusting that I didn't hear anything about that until last year. ='(
