Personally I've loved both. But honestly I don't think they are that alike, so I'm not sure why it would be weird that you would like one and not the other.

Different strokes for different folks. Personally I liked TLJ a lot, and found The Acolyte extremely bland and forgettable.

The Acolyte is the first Star Wars show I started watching and just couldn't bring myself to finish. I don't necessarily think it was worse than Ashoka or Mando Season 3, it felt pretty on-par with those shows to me (I didn't watch Boba Fett so no idea how it stacks up). I think it's just that after sticking with those other shows and getting more annoyance and boredom out of them than enjoyment, I finally decided I'd had enough and didn't have the patience to do it again.

I haven't been paying much attention, but I've heard wildly different opinions on whether this show is good or bad. It just reinforces my feeling that I can't take Star Wars opinions seriously anymore. Like, if people are screaming about how bad a new Star Wars thing is, is it actually bad or is it just not exactly the Star Wars they grew up with?

Basically:

People say it's amazing = it's probably good but may not be to everyone's taste.

People say it's shit = it's probably fine but some people decided it was too woke and they're throwing a tantrum.

People are being quiet about it = it's probably bad.

The visuals are awesome, imo. The characters, logic and lore consistency are all disappointing.

I honestly liked the "Tsunami Spirits" episode. I thought the stories were intriguing ad heartbreaking, and it actually made me cry.

I like the new version, myself. Yeah, I do miss the old format, and do agree that the change in the format does make it feel a little more like any ol' true crime show much of the time. But I still like it - I appreciate that they kept the opening theme music, and they've had some genuinely fascinating and curious stories on there.

The Ghosts of the Tsunami ep was probably the only episode of the new season that I loved. Agreed on the rest. They should never have rebooted the series. It's just not the same without Robert Stack. I'll often go back and watch some of the old series on youtube. So great!

I wouldn't have minded the tsunami episode if it had been a handful of interesting paranormal stories in a longer show or a longer series, like the original TV show. But a whole episode of basic ghost sightings when your season is only half a dozen episodes long just takes up way too much time, IMO. Of course, I'm a skeptic and while I like ghost stories, stuff like that (to me) people working through their grief and that's it. I wish them peace, but I don't need to hear what's basically the same damn thing for half an hour or more.

The chibi style was the reason why I started drawing with more confidence back in the day. It was cute and felt easier to draw so I got into the habit of drawing for fandom before eventually trying different styles.

The most iconic for me had to be CLAMP's chibi moments in the manga or those side stories they would do about themselves of in manga like RG Veda.

I get this. Personally I love long movies, as long as they are good enough that I'm fully immersed in the universe. But a movie that I'm not fully invested in can drag. Plus, it is frustrating when I have to leave the theater multiple times to use the restroom (why can't they bring back intermissions?).
