Honestly part of me agrees but I’ve been using the wall of tags as a quality indicator for so long that I’d be sad to see them go.

I don't think I agree. Some of the Tumblr style tags are legit funny to me* and the ones that aren't often go hand in hand with writing that just isn't for me, so I know to avoid those fics.

* Like the "no beta we die like [insert fandom specific meme]"

Is it "Bless me Father, for I have sinned" or "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned"? FS Catholics, weigh in.

It's usually but not always "Bless me Father, for I have sinned."

Starting off with "Forgive me" is also perfectly acceptable. If the sinner in question is very miserable, they may also ask forgiveness using other words because they are too stressed to use the usual words.

I have never heard "Bless me Father" TBH. Not sure it's a regional thing or not.

Italian anon here and here we say "forgive me, father, for I have sinned" (perdonami, padre, perché ho peccato). In all my years consuming media in English I think I've always heard/read "forgive me, father".
For me it makes more sense since you're making a confession and you are asking for forgiveness to the father. The blessing comes at the end of the confession, sure, but you are there to "beg" the father to forgive you for your sins, not to bless you.
IDK man, maybe it's a regional thing like the other anon above said. People raised Catholics are big on sins and asking to be forgiven.

My biggest problem right now is US politics, and I don't know if I can tell my therapist because I don't know her political views.

Oh man, I feel this. I live in Texas. I have a new therapist. I don't know her well enough to know her political views. She does know what I do for a living. But I haven't come out as bi to her yet. And I have no idea how to talk to her about how stressful this state and this country are making me right now.

If they are a good therapist then it won't matter because they are professional enough to separate their personal views from their professional obligations. If they are not good enough therapist to be able to do that, then you need to get a new therapist in any case; and it is best to know.

I rec the secular therapy project. They're vetted that no matter their personal feelings they only use evidence based therapeutic practices.

i'm a fanartist but i get why people don't want to receive fanart in exchanges. so much of it is garbage that makes it look like the "artist" didn't try. and i don't mean where the artist is a newbie and getting the hang of anatomy or backgrounds or whatever. i mean, when someone draws glowing eyes (which are just the airbrush tool) on a black background. that is not even trying. that is bullshit.

(for newbie artists who are uncertain and scared, i support you! just do your best!)

Whenever the word "drugs" is censored as "d***s" my brain auto-uncensors it to "dicks". Which leads to some confusing sentences before I sort myself out. She's doing hard d***s? Well yeah, it's kinda difficult to do a soft one.

I started today! I only did a mile and have 144 to go of The Shire challenge but feel like I can do this. All of the challenges combined total 910 miles. I only started doing Conqueror challenges a couple weeks ago and have already done 70 miles so I’m feeling rather confident. Today was supposed to be rest day, which is why I’ve only done one mile. But tomorrow I can easily set aside an hour on the treadmill to listen to Andy Serkis :)

I just remembered this out of nowhere when I saw this thread. When I took the SAT (US standardized test important in college applications), I went back and answered a question from a previous section. You're not supposed to do that. This was fourteen years ago. I've been to and graduated college. I won't get in any kind of trouble over this by now. But it matters to me because the only thing I've ever been good at is getting good grades, so my SAT scores are still one of the last things I can feel good about...but it's a lie. Technically, even though in a really small way, I cheated.

This is a little fandom thought that I don't want to be made into a secret: When I found out Ranma 1/2 is getting a remake, my first thought was the secret from about a year ago lamenting the that the show could never be remade because woke culture would deem the concept problematic. The fact that they were wrong gives me immense satisfaction, and I hope they're happy to have their remake but I also hope they feel a little stupid for being all waaaahhh, it'll never happen, everything is wooookkeeeee, poor me!

There are large swathes of 80s pop culture that people would expect someone my age to have seen but I never have.

Any of the Back to the Future films, for instance.

I take forever to write essays. I have this weird mental block about them. I can write a pretty good essay, but if I have to write it quickly...I just can't. I had to write an essay for one of my college midterm exams (like a decade ago). We were given the essay prompt ahead of time and encouraged to roughly plan our essay beforehand.

I wrote the whole essay, memorized it verbatim, and just rewrote it from memory during the exam. So I guess I cheated on an exam.

Most of the class got C's and C+'s. I was the only one to get an A. I don't really feel guilty about it, but still.

(I quit post-sec shortly thereafter, for the record.)

I've seen a few comments of barber videos (on Instagram) where after some men get particulars cuts people think they look like lesbians. This kind of comment weirds me out, and I'm not sure why.

(Note: When I've seen this comment on videos, it's slightly more likely to be made by a woman. Slightly.)
