I ship this so hard. Mostly because I play the RPGs more than anything, where Bowser is more of a lovable asshole. I agree with the people saying it's probably not a healthy relationship, but there's something about it that just makes me squee. Probably because I am just a big sappy Bowser fantard and I want him to be smooshy wooshy happy.

That being said, I don't like people who completely write Mario off or make him into some kind of jerkoff. I think that I have a weird headcanon for them based off of Donkey Kong and the movie where he actually has a girlfriend in the "real world" and views Peach as more of a good friend and sister.

Oh God I remember the "real world." That proves how fucking old I am, doesn't it?

Uh, that is what you said. It's easier for you to write male protagonists because they're more familiar to you.

And no, it is quite possible to write fiction set in the really real world that doesn't focus on gender roles or patriarchy to any significant extent. The character in your icon is proof of that. There are many completely factually-based stories in which women are not defined by patriarchy.

I often have problems writing about women in fandom, and I do write markedly more fic about men than fic about women, and this is because popular media franchises often use women poorly. I feel that this restriction collapses when one gets into OF, speculative or otherwise. (See [livejournal.com profile] demiincarnate denying the existence of female politicians).

Depends on the character. (Icon very related - I love the Ghostfacers episode of SPN for many many reasons, but one of the bigger ones is because it was shot documentary-style cause the writers were ripping on the Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State type of shows, get it get it clever clever XD, so we got to really see for the first time that Dean swears like a sailor. He was getting beeped all the time :D I fuckin' knew it!)

I got the first game for Christmas two or three years ago. I heard so many great things about it and I'd read about the story a little. It sounded so interesting! I'm a sucker for a great story. So I played for about an hour.

It terrified me more than I can express. My brother loves the game - it's his favorite of all time - and anytime my bro asks me to watch him play, I have to say no cuz it just scares me too much. I love the story - I've spoiled myself as well - but I can't play the game.

ESSENTIALLY, I feel your pain, anon. Sorry it scared you so much, too. :(
