It just doesn't make sense that they would even mention Rupert if they're issue is with Hermione/Ron.

Maybe if they thought Rupert was ugly or something and they're being shallow and saying "OMG casting him as Ron just ruined it cuz IDK why Hermione would EVER pick him!"

I totally agree with it being impersonal. It took me a while to learn as well
But I think you have to look at it like consciousness vomit. That is to say that people post anything and everything they see there because they can. It's a lot like twitter or facebook statuses in the way that people can just be like "I saw a bird today" even if no one gives to figs about them seeing a bird. In Tumblr's case though you can put up pretty pictures or videos or whatever to illustrate your point. It's really an interesting beast to me and I'm more fascinated by how people use it than what actually shows up (but that's the comm major in me).
I, personally, use LJ for more rl stuff and now save my fandom stuff for tumblr... to each their own though

I could be wrong, but there's a series called the "foreign!verse" in the TGWTG fandom where an canon-American-born man (the guy in my icon actually) is for some reason given a South African background. I don't even read it, but there was a fic recently where he got abused by airport security and that may have caused some issues.

I know right? I just recently got a tumblr and I don't really like it that much. LJ has such a good commenting system, not to mention communities for people to find each other easily and be able to talk about ONE common interest without having to follow the whole fandom and get all their unrelated posts.

Not to, uh, lessen the impact of your comment, but there are plenty of groups you could donate to aside from the Red Cross that do way more good. The Red Cross is cumbersome, and sometimes uses its money for frivolous things.

1b. There's something I find really off-putting about the Steampunk genre... there are obviously some exceptions to this, but too many times it's used very shallowly, because gears look cool.
2. I'm sure Steampunk Hamlet is going to be a hit with not only the general public, but with fandom as well, and, of course, the slashers. Good on you for heading off that tide, OP. Ooh, I bet Hamlet wins this time!
3. What are people doing queering Horatio and Hamlet's relationship? Gay, in SHAKESPEARE? What is this tomfoolery?
4. How much do Horatio and Ophelia interact in Hamlet? I remember them acting as foils to each other (they're the ones who seem to truly love Hamlet), but do they actually interact? It's not like they'd be an Olivia and Viola situation, is all I'm saying.
