We can agree to disagree, OP, but the second episode of Sherlock was so bad, imo. SO BAD. I don't even know why they did those things. Those many things!

I don't even think I want to argue to people who disagree or don't see it; not because I think their opinions are invalid but because I don't think we'd ever see eye-to-eye about that particular issue.

As far as the shipping goes. I like Ron/Hermione, though I also like other couples with either Ron or Hermione. (I really don't get the 'exclusive' shipping so many people seem to experience.)
Maybe she could've gotten someone better, but I think the reason is that it was coming on from SO LONG.

I agree :). I ship Ron/Hermione mostly cause I saw it coming as a kid and it was kind of my first ship so I have a big emotional attachment to it, but I also like Ron with Luna (which unfortunately is usually lumped with H/Hr, which I don't have a problem with and don't ship) and Hermione with Neville (the only ship out of the "sextet" of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and Luna that some people haven't even heard of and possibly the rarest boy to pair Hermione with). I multiship a lot in HP- probably just cause there are SO MANY CHARACTERS, you know? And it's fun seeing their dynamic with different characters; I like my ships for different reasons.

Publishers of books make no money from used bookstores, record companies make no money from people selling old CDs. This happens in every media in existence.

I agree with you on the pirating issue, but freaking out about used games is ridiculous.

it's not lj. It's not that personal. it's not about making connections or sharing your opinions or anything. it's an almost entirely visual thing, which is why I like it a lot but I'd never abandon lj for it.

IDK, I don't think she's that bad. I don't think she's going to win an Oscar or anything (Oscar gags aside), but I find her enthusiasm for the job and general joy whenever I see her in interviews/BTS stuff very endearing, and I think some of that affection for Karen has transferred into affection for Amy for me, more than the actual writing of the character. I realize that's a bit of a different beast than acting itself, but still, credit where it's due, that's Karen Gillan.

Tumblr is often used for pictures and rapid updates on fandoms and just laughing at stupid posts.

If you want to have it be personal, you've got to make the effort. I have people on their I'd consider myself friends with. Make mosts about things going on in your life, comment on their posts. Talk to people about fandom.

It's a natural human response to be jealous, hun, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, a lot of the greatest people to ever exist were not gifted when they were younger, and there are more than a few quotes running around about hard work trumping all. Yeah, that was the thing that bothered me about the second episode. It just felt off to me. And I am not usually quick on the racefail uptake, AT ALL.

That said, A HUNDRED +1s to everything else in the secret. YES YES YES. Why shouldn't I enjoy stories about men? Why shouldn't I be able to say that I like Sherlock as well as that there should be more awesome TV shows about POC transsexual women?

Really...I don't know, it's not the fear of an assocation with Twilight. Just. Totally wrong charisma. He can play Cedric and Edward. But keep him away from a character that has an actual sense of humour and often comes across as rather dorky than evil. I just can't imagine it.

I'd be fine with David Tennant. And shoot me for this, but who else thinks Matt Bomer would fit?

Hell, I'd even accept Johnny Depp as long as they're not going to cast Pattinson.
