Wow....I'm really not sure what to say about that.
I sympathize, though....I've had some odd experiences as well with people in fandom, that I feel I cared about way more than I should.

I'm sure you don't need to be told this at this point OP, but people change. Trying to hold on can be uncomfortable at best or painful at worst, and it probably won't work anyway. Let your friend go, maybe later you'll drift back into each other's lives naturally.

Whatever you do, I would not email her out of the blue with this. If I got that email I'd feel so guilty about not noticing you in the old fandom and it would put a lot of baggage on our interactions.

Really? Just curious, but did you read the books or just see the movies? Cause if it's the latter I can understand that, but if it's the former... I mean, I understand if you don't LIKE them together, but it was pretty obvious by Goblet of Fire that that's the way it was going to be. A lot of Rowling romances were accused of coming out of thin air (Harry/Ginny, Remus/Tonks) but even the biggest Harmonians and R/Hr haters admit that they saw it coming.

Yeah, as far as poems go (my Portuguese teacher used to get us to do paraphrases of The Lusiads all the time) I'd go with them being metaphors rather than 'totally made up'.

I hardly ever go there for fandom related stuff like fics and discussions. But I do love all the new art its introduced. Before it was all about icons and they occasional wallpaper or two. Now there is so much blends. Honestly, I'm only there for the pics.

It was the Hare Hare Yukia that got me interested in studying anime fandom, I'm going to be an anthropologist.

Very very VERY few books get even a little fanart drawn for them, let alone "really popular". Even books that make the bestsellers lists rarely get ongoing, active fandoms. Even YA series.

So I wouldn't go counting your chickens just yet. I know it's kind of disappointing, it's so fun to think about hypothetical fandoms. :(
