I'm pretty sure Withnail and I is a Yuletide fandom. And I have a hard truth for you, OP. Absolutely everything, ever, is a Yuletide fandom. Everything. Up to and including songs, advertisements, old children's cartoons, obscure movies, and books written 500 years ago. EVERYTHING. You're just going to have to deal.

The fact that some of these comments are people defending their kinks in a very hostile way just shows that.

I'm not denying those people exist either. I think a lot of times it's because they are being overly defensive about it. But it's pretty annoying to have a kink for something you know is wrong IRL to the point that you already feel guilty about it, and then on top of that have someone call you disgusting and all sorts of other negative epithets. Like people can control what they get off to. Yes, people can choose to not act on those urges in real life, but fantasy is fantasy, what is the point of making people feel bad about it?

I would also like to really point out that the "pedo" thing is particularly annoying when a) the "children" in question are actually teenagers, therefore making it not pedophilia and not even illegal in some places, b) you get off to the age difference because, to quote moot, "I wish to be the little girl" and c) one of the reasons it's a kink in the first place is because you experienced it IRL. So I think it's actually insensitive on the part of some of these people to "call people out" for their socially unacceptable kinks when they were molested, statutory raped, or whatever as kids AND THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE THE KINK IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE

Manga: Exposed as Kira in a warehouse, shot by Matsuda, tries to get Ryuk to help him but Ryuk writes his name in the Death Note instead. Light writhes on the floor panicking and screaming that he doesn't want to die (and recalls that Ryuk told him the fates of all humans are equal in death, that there isn't any Heaven or Hell). Heart attack kicks in, he dies with eyes open and his last words "Damn it-".

Anime: Similar up until the part where he's shot. Somehow, he breaks free despite his bullet wounds and manages to flee the warehouse. He struggles and runs to another one, but Ryuk (watching from a tower) decides that it'll be Light's day to die and writes his name in the note. Light makes it to the stairs in another warehouse, collapses, and his heart seizes up. His dying moment is dragged out over the credits until he hallucinates the ghost of L, then he closes his eyes dramatically and dies.

The fate of his later Kira partner, Mikami, is also changed between the adaptations. In the manga, he's said to have gone insane in prison and killed himself after Light's death. In the anime, he snaps and commits suicide in the warehouse before Light dies, by stabbing himself in the heart with a pen.
