Not necessarily. I'm in my late 30s and have a decent social life. I've had boyfriends, but I've never been in love. There are no guarantees and it doesn't happen for everyone.

I really DO believe that's the aim of the sexist/racist/homophobic/etc jokes on Family Guy, but I still find the show offensive.
Because sometimes, it's just gross. Like, actually gross. People being cut in half and puking everywhere and whatnot.

I want to watch it, but I have too weak a stomach anymore, or the show has gotten grosser, one of the two.

Uh, but for a lot of people everything in fandom IS about "I think these two bodies look hot together." And that's not doing fandom wrong, either. They're having fun. That's supposed to be the whole fucking point.

The sandbox is for everybody and the toys you want to take home with you in a huff? Don't belong to you. RPF isn't going anywhere, not anytime in the near future. Letting other people just have their fun instead of trying to make them feel guilty (because it'll work on some - I won't deny that) is kind of a douche move. Really.

Ah, there you are! I knew someone would have to bring this to the table.

I honestly think that the good to bad ratio of fic for fair-sized fandoms on lj stays pretty consistent. It all depends on how infatuated you are with a pairing or fandom. I'll find a new fandom and there'll be keeper fics everywhere I turn for a while, but then the honeymoon ends and I get picky again. That's how it was for me with Sherlock and how it was with Inception before it and H50 after. (TSN, clock's ticking!)

Thanks. It ~is~ that she is so Barely Legal and he is so ~not~ plus the way she talks about it. She's in over her head and can't see it.

I will try to separate. I did like some exploitative undertones to my pairings and now it feels strange is all. Close and real.
