The rest of my family who watched DW at the time loathed her. And my ex did a facepalm when I said she was my favorite companion.

Can't say how it is for everyone else though but with them it was more of a case of just finding Catherine Tate annoying whatever she does and not so much the character. Personally I've always found her comedy hit and miss but her portrayal of Donna was something special on its own IMO.

No, it was canon that he was at MOST 11 years old.
1)He was stuck in beast form for 10 years before he met Belle
2)He needed to break the spell before he turned 21
3) he spell was broken as the last petal fell, implying that he was on the cusp of turning 21).

So mathematically speaking, he was 11 when he was cursed. There are very few 11 year olds out there that aren't self centered little shits. It always struck me as a pretty harsh punishment for a boy who was probably spoiled his whole life and didn't know any better.

No I know, I adore her. But the reasoning for her being on the bridge were so random at times, sometimes she didn't even speak at all but was there simply to be eye candy. And she has like, zero character development. BUT I LOVE HER I wish they'd done so much more with her. I think she had a lot of potential.

I think fanfic authors do it because it's just easier to establish when Ramna is in "girl form" or "boy form" by using gender-specific pronouns. In the manga and anime, you can actually see what form he's in, so the characters around him just call Ranma "him" regardless. You can't really do that in fanfiction- well, okay, I suppose you could do it with a great degree of attention and care, but I don't really blame any authors who refer to girl-Ranma as "she" for simplicities' sake.

a) You're judging something without reading it, so your opinion counts for squat.

b) You're wrong about comics not containing depth and variety.

c) Some comics have kid-friendly versions, which are significantly different from the psychologically complex storylines enjoyed by teen and adult fans.
