Yeah, I don't take offense at it, but I do recognize the inherent misogyny in the history and general use of the word.

Sometimes people with mental disorders or who are on the spectrum need accommodations to be able to go on with their lives, though. I hope you don't see that as coddling. You probably don't, having a disorder yourself. I've just seen too many people who say this kind of rhetoric (equality of treatment) to mean "I refuse to acknowledge accommodations or support structures for people with disabilities". And I'd be remiss to say something in case an mentally-well person reads this and thinks it's okay not try and dismiss the genuine need some people with mental disabilities have for accommodations and support.

I just wanted to say this because I'm pretty sure it's not just a younger generation thing.

I was born in 1991

I'm not sure where OP would draw the line, but I would consider someone born in 1991 to be part of the "younger generation."

It's so sad how bad The Simpsons is now. Was literally by far and away my favourite show from ages 8 - 16 and then it just...sucked. I watch re-runs on weekends constantly and they NEVER get old and yet the new episodes aren't even 0.000001% as funny as the worst joke from those episodes.

It's really really sad.

We must be having a shared hallucination. It's the only explanation.

So is Emmett's mom, imo.

The super sweet 10% totally exists! It's just hard to find, because, well, 10%.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I also hope that OP will meet someone with no standards!

Good Luck, OP!

Member of deaf culture here (specifically a KODA), please learn ASL. It helps in the little ways (plus, you can gossip with people from across rooms if your eyesight is better than mine :P)

Just means you read a lot. This is a good thing :)

Any time people jump all over someone for using the term "bitch", I think they've totally lost touch in their pursuit of SJ awareness. It's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. It's pejorative language, it's MEANT to be pejorative. Just because it began as a sexist term doesn't mean it's something like "cunt". Stupid.

You, meanwhile, would be more understandable if you would stop trying to eat his spine while speaking.

Everyone got that? No cock-sucking or spine-eating while talking.

That's always been one of the great things about Jack Harkness. One of the (many) things that pissed me off about the S4 finale of Doctor Who was the way they had Jack completely snub Donna, acting like she had cooties when she wanted a hug after he'd gladly hugged everyone else.

*hugs if wanted* I hope you find someone who thinks you're amazing.

I see your point,(sort of..I'm 20 I'm not that young D:) my mind just automatically goes to children when people talk about younger siblings I guess.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Weird. Everybody has them, you know. Even, like, teenagers. Weirdo.

[identity profile] billybobfred0.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Are three-way hallucinations possible? Because I'm seeing it too.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. I still find the Simpsons funny. Plus I love the Lisa/Nelson fanservice they've been adding in recently.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Why do you think that? Because she takes the boyfriend stuff so seriously? Cuz that kinda bugs me

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
So red eyes + white hair = albino!

Nope. Common misconception, but nope. It's way more common for albinos to have very pale blue eyes or even slightly purplish eyes than red. Depends on the type of albinism.

You aren't even twenty. You are the younger generation.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
There's a few really good fics of this ;)

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
No, it has to be "This kind of comment" because "kind" is singular.

Spine is for plebes. Brains are tastier. Especially with a good barbecue sauce.
