The TL;DR version:

In my AP Art class in high school, I was told that nothing I drew was allowed to be in an anime style, because that would just be me copycatting someone else's work.

There was another girl in the class who drew and painted everything like the works of Salvador Dali. Same manner of shading so almost everything attempted to look vaguely metallic, same surrealist air, even the same subject matter in some cases. (She actually painted one of the long-legged elephants from this painting (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7f/Dali_Temptation_of_St_Anthony.jpg) as a standalone piece at one point during the course.) Her skills weren't up to par with his, of course, but she really wasn't bad. She just couldn't draw or paint anything on her own. She HAD to have a Dali reference.

When I finally got fed up and brought this up with my teacher, he told me that mimicking a "master painter" was fine, because doing so would actually "teach the painter to do something entirely unique." When I asked why I couldn't draw in my style, then, which I'd taken years upon years to work out, his response was that "Well, it's anime. We're expecting you to do real art in this course, not follow some little pop phenomenon."

The funny thing is, after that I reverted to my style for the rest of the course, and my portfolio got a higher score than the Dali girl. Only marginally so, I guess--the difference between a 2 and a 3 doesn't seem like much to most people--but it made me laugh so hard.

Not real art my ass.

Art is art. And we're artists, no matter what anyone says.

Until the whole series fell to pieces in the last couple of episodes (with that whole SD cartoon explaining his Evil Plans), Durandal was awesome. He would've succeeded if Jesus Yamato wasn't a self-insert God Moder.

9. Everyone uses photoscrap or brushes and the ones who say they don't are lying. While it's not good to be heavily reliant on stock the artists who are actually really talented do utilize every artistic resource because in the end it's how it looks. It's talent regardless to be able to take a pencil sketch and turn it into something that almost appears to be real. Everyone uses references from time to time, as well. The mentality that you're not an artist because of this is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard from the art community considering Renaissance painters used models and even went as far as to shine the image of what they were painting larger onto the wall or ceiling from a miniature. For years I told myself that in order to be an 'artist' I had to do everything on my own and you know what I was cheating myself because I was expanding my artistic knowledge. When I first started toying around with using more resources I felt guilty until I realized that there was no reason behind it. Everyone did it and it was widely accepted. Anyone who calls her less of an artist is a dumbass because she is an amazing artist and I was wondering why I hadn't seen her art in forever. She along with Glass Shard are the reason I even do digital art. She was inspiring and still is and those stupid douches who insulted her art are most likely jealous kids who draw with crayons -- the ones who so savagely critique usually draw on lined paper with a dull crayon.

13. I'll never understand the Hinamori dislike among so many people calling her weak or pathetic or whiny when all they're basing it off of is her emotional state after Aizen 's killed. She was livid. She's also a vice-captain and was quite skilled at the academy. Kira talks about her kido strength and Hitsugaya even refers to Aizen and Gin wanting Hinamori and he to 'kill each other' so obviously she's rather formidable even if she doesn't have the mental stability due to Aizen's 'death'.

Regarding 9... I love you so much.

The best part is, there's really only a couple of people who are trying to start a witchhunt about her, and they're all petty and childish. They constantly link to their own or their friend's galleries, with statements like "Look, I/this person is a realist, and yet no one is accusing me/them, because I/they don't copy!"

They also launch into volleys of curse words at people who disagree, and are probably only spreading their filth around because every site they try to spew it on, they get banned for the above actions.

But it's so terribly frustrating because it seems like the entire point of their allegations is that once Linda's fans know the truth, they won't enjoy her art any more. I still love it, and I still look to her as inspiration to get better.

9. First, let me say that I think her art owns whether she does paintovers or not. I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as you don't lie about it.

Now, if the haters "made her stop painting," that's just laaame. Art and criticism go hand in hand. She's a professional artist and should know how to deal with it.

That said, I'm pretty sure she never actually said she'd stopped because of them and IIRC had been idle before any accusations came up. The only one who can force Linda Bergkvist to stop sharing her art is Linda Bergkvist.

The beginning of the allegations on her threads at CGSociety were within a month of when she stopped posting her sketches on that site. And from that point onwards, her larger pictures have been posted haphazardly - one on one site, one on another, and not necessarily even on her personal site. Tracking them down has become a struggle, and many of the pieces she promised she was working on, or showed snippets of haven't been published at all on the internet. She didn't do that before the accusations began.

I've had some people trying to look at my art tell me that they can't SEE anything saved in PNG format. It just won't load. Apparently it's just not as universal as the JPEG. Also, I'm pretty sure the folks using MSpaint to make their secrets don't have the ability to save their secrets as PNGs.

15) While I do sigh at people judging Destiny just because it wasn't the best thing ever and calling it the worst piece of crap to respresent Gundam ever (which I don't really agree with, but), who cares what other people think? That seems to be a common thing in fandom these days, people scared to be judged based on something they like. You like it, if they'll judge you harshly for a hobby, you're not the lame one here.

Bah! What great storyline? It's overloaded with cliches and you know everything that's going to happen the second it's mentioned. Nothing about the storyline surprised me or was interesting enough to keep me interested in it. The only reason I played that game through was because I heard of the great mind-fuckery that'd happen later in the game. Things like the Man Festival were the only thing that kept me amused enough to slog through it. And even now I don't feel like that was enough to make up for the rest of the game.

10. Yeah, I would rather Harry died than have more than "dwarf the orignial Weasley family" together with Ginny. But I have completely different reasons: 1) If a character is to survive I want him/her to be IC in the epilogue, 2) I wouldn't want a relationship based on nothing but lust to start a family.

Nah, the best way to get the wank started and see who are the "true fans", is to break up the OBHWF. Having been told that I shouldn't even read the books or like the fandom if I don't support Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny, it'd be interesting to see if the reverse would happen or not should Harry hook up with Luna, Hermione with Viktor Krum, Ron with Lavender, and Ginny with Dean/Neville, or just one of them die while the others enter their respective non-OBHWF ships.

Now THAT, would clear out the "true fans".

I did a project on Nevada-tan once; she actually does look a lot like that drawing of her. (Aside from eye color, naturally.)

There are uncensored pictures out there, screenshots from her website, and her name was accidentally revealed by a television station. It was a little frightening, actually.

14-...huh, I was just re-reading bits of Count Cain, and loving it.
I think if people are using it as textbook for Victorian dress, that's there stupidity. Kaori Yuki can do what she wants really, especially in a manga with many fantasy aspects.

That, and her art is great. Count Cain isn't her best drawn work, but compare it to the other things being drawn that long ago.
And...well...I'm not gunna argue over the plot. That's a matter of taste.
