There's no problem with fangirling as long as you aren't being creepy and invading his privacy. She/he created a twitter so people would read it. She/he was in videos so people would watch them. She/he had pictures taken so other people would see them. Watching videos, saving gifs, checking twitter...it might be a bit obsessive, but as long as you're not tweeting him/her every five minutes or trying to get private pictures, you're just being a fan.

Please tell them. It was so cringe-worthy to meet weeaboos in Japan and unfortunately I encountered a lot of them. People need to go with realistic expectations to save themselves (and their country) embarrassment and disappointment.

I'm planning on taking her to a movie she really wants to see then out to a nice sushi place. I know she likes girls, some of our friends have told me to go for it, and yet I still think I'll chicken out.

I need a pep talk and some advice.

I just saw this last night. It was decent. I enjoyed the story.

The blackface/whiteface/asianface was distracting as hell though. All implications aside, it was just so poorly done that there wasn't a hope in hell of anyone mistaking any of the characters for anything but "a white guy with hideous eye prosthetics" or "an Asian woman with dyed hair and contact lenses" etc. The male/female transitions are much better done. Can't Hollywood do better than this? Even if they needed to use CGI? How can it be that we can make Gollum look like a living, breathing creature and not make a white guy look anything at all like he's Asian?

It really distracted from the "we are all the same" and "race doesn't matter" message when it was so starkly obvious that all of these people were completely distinguishable as an "other" in a costume.

That's...kind of why I think people who treat any country that way should really visit the place [and spend more than a couple days/week there] before declaring it's the place they want to live/best place ever. They may really love the place, and adore being there - in which case, no harm done. But they also get a chance to see the country as it actually is, not through media filters that might make it seem different than it really is.
