It's weird, because so much else in the original series was pointy except the girls, and now look.

I don't have any strong opinion either way, I haven't seen it in action.

I don't see how it's that much different than the original design.

Besides, I like it better. It's a bit more retro-looking, which is awesome and fits in with the personality of the show.

I don't know what you mean by "lazy fanart style". Are you talking about the styles professionals came up with that fanartists copy?

Otherwise eh, Bubbles and Blossom are okay but I don't know about buttercup. The biggest difference is the eyes and hair.

The thing about PPG is that the design sense was so unique I feel like it'd be hard to "modernize" while still keeping within the same design spectrum. You could try to do something completely different (like the PPG anime did) but then fans will be even more pissed.

The green one looks really bad, that's true. And I liked their original smooth shapes better. IDK how people can think that this is a superior design; the blue girl, for instance, looks like a half of her skull was snatched away by some unknown force.

I haven't seen this series in ages =_= All I remember is watching them occasionally as a child. I didn't like them much, though, because I did not fully understand the plot, and some moments just creeped me out. Their relationship with their "father" (creator?) was so weird that I simply couldn't. Ugh. It made me awfully uncomfortable and even frightened sometimes. I still feel that this particular series is somewhat more complex than, say, "Totally Spies" or some similar light-hearted rubbish.

I would love to check if Lauren Faust's husband or even Lauren herself was involved in any of the writing for this shitfest of an episode, but I really try to ignore that it even exists.

It's normal to want to change things up, but I'm just not feeling it. They are WAY too pointy imo, and don't quite look like themselves. (Especially Buttercup... The new style doesn't suit her character design at all.)

I didn't even realize they were doing a redesign.

Sidenote: I had old PPG stuffed dolls and I just found them to day and they're super adorable and now they don't look at all like the new design.

Frankly, I'm upset they're even doing this reboot at all especially when there's no sign of Craig McCrkacken or Lauren Faust working on it. But I guess I'll end up watching it anyway just to see what they do with it.

I don't like or dislike these designs, but just seeing them and FEELING that they will only be tween-animated just makes me cringe. I can't stand tween and more and more cartoons are adapting to this animation, aughh!
