Probably going scuba diving. Me and my buddies thought it was gonna be ~super fun!~ but after we descended, the horrible ear pain, not being able to see the ocean floor but only the dark abyss I had a panic attack. I started hyperventilating while flailing around as my mask filled with water. Thankfully we were pretty close to the surface and one of the instructors took helped me ascent quickly. I sat on the boat shaking petrified thinking what would have happened if I was underwater and couldn't resurface quick enough. I realized how much I feared the ocean.

I am going into the second week of a minor flu that has nonetheless aggravatingly sapped me of my voice, my motivation, my appetite, and basically my will to live. The stress at work is not helping either. Can you say "downsizing" boys and girls????? D-:

Andrea is/was/always will be my favorite character but Carol being popular had nothing to do with Andrea being killed off. From what I can tell, Andrea was killed because a) the majority of fans loathed her, b) the network wanted a shocking death in the finale and c) it was a huge deviation from the comics. I have heard rumors that the former show-runner DIDN'T want to kill Andrea off and that's one of the reasons he was fired so it seems like her fate was a network decision. And there are other rumors saying Andrea's original death was supposed to be this complete non-event and the new show-runner at least gave her those final moments with the people she loved. Which makes sense with an interview Laurie Holden gave saying how happy she was at what the new show-runner wrote for her in the finale.

I don't think Daryl/Carol has been heavy-handed in the show at all. There's a lot of Daryl/Carol shipping going on in the fandom and I suppose you could argue that the writers have played up to that a bit but as far as their canon relationship goes, we've seen nothing concrete to indicate that they are anything but good friends.

As to Norman...he doesn't seem to want Daryl with anyone. Every interview I've seen with him, he says he thinks Daryl has 'no game' and doesn't see him romancing anyone. I've seen Laurie Holden tweet drawings/fan-art that could suggest she was for Daryl/Andrea but I think she's done similar things with Rick/Andrea and Andrea/Michonne fan-art as well, so it could be she just gets excited when people make things featuring her character.

What I did was scary but I wouldn't exactly call it significant.

Man, you even sound like one of them. Aggressive and touchy and filled with self-righteous anger.

Oh no, someone with no influence whom you don't know and never will called you a name! Surely you should boil with fury for the rest of your natural born life (and blame the stress on him, because you're too stupid to realize that you're doing it to yourself).

I think you've done well for yourself here (unless you're actually seriously upset about someone doing something OTT/satirical in a comedy sketch, in which case...go get help).

May I have a link to the meme, please? I'm terrible at finding those things.

The only problem with this is that one person's bizarre crack pair is another person's rare- or crossover-pair that they genuinely ship.

I'm just ... trying to think of a pair off the top of my head that couldn't maybe be taken seriously if done well? I'm not really coming up with anything.

Somebody nominate some cracky and/or rare pairs? (I don't recognise any of the ones in the secret).

Yup, one time when i was a teen. I had a bug bite on my *foot*, and i'm allergic so it was kinda swollen up and such (but i'm not that allergic, i just get a big hive and it itches for way longer than anyone else's bite itches).

I was lifting my foot up to look at it and just...dark, wham, nothing. Weirdest thing ever. Never happened again.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
He is certainly not making fun of "everyone." He's accusing people who own guns of being fear-mongers with tiny penises and saying that it takes a "cold dead hand" to pull a trigger. And then he flips gun owners off. He handily ignores the hundreds of thousands of times that guns are used for self-defense every year. I guess those people can just die, as far as he's concerned.

Well, I'm sorry, but I don't have a penis at all, and if someone twice my size with a tiny penis decides he wants to rape me to prove how powerful he is, I want a better alternative than lying back and thinking of England.

Of course, Jim Carrey doesn't have to worry about being raped, because he has armed fucking bodyguards. Well, good for him. We don't all have that luxury.

I've had a panic attack while diving too. Almost lost consciousness from CO2 poisoning. SCARY SHIT.

Not nearly as serious, but this reminds me of messing around with an air rifle when I was eleven. Really powerful pistol that my friends dad had. Well we're screwing around with it and the pellet in the chamber drops out.

I look down the barrel to confirm this is the case, finger on the trigger the whole time, and then working under the assumption the chambers empty think 'heh I'll give my little bro a proper scare' and point it at his eye from a foot away. For god knows what reason at the very last second I centre it on his forehead instead and fire.

He's crying and bleeding everywhere and I learnt a lifelong lesson in gun safety having been a split second away from half blinding my brother or myself.

I feel you, OP. I feel you. I've paid many a visit to the McKittrick and my WANT CANNOT BE SATED. No joke: I feel like a part of me is going to die when it finally leaves NYC.

I really can't keep doing this to my bank account.

Yeah, she was just starting - I only wish she was able to do more. I'm just kind of "whatever" on her death, and annoyed she didn't get to do more. The fact that she's been away from the group so long also makes it feel like her death doesn't have much impact. I DUNNO. You can't just throw in her saying I WANTED TO SAVE EVERYONE :( at the last moment and expect it to completely break my heart.

My SO is an artist (airbrush, drawing, digital) and a tattoo artist for a living and yeah, he gets asked this ALL THE TIME. Like - oh you artists live for art-making so you won't mind making my AWESOME FLYING TURKEY-BEAR picture for free, would you? It'll be so fun! It'll be great exposure!!!

Yeah, no. He doesn't get nasty or anything, but he's pretty firm about saying no, he has plenty of paying work to keep him busy.

I'd like t think that we still have our memories and identities....at least until we are reincarnated. We do keep some quirks from this life to the next.

But this is just speculation of course.

Re: are you afraid of dying?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I think of it as even if I'm dead all the people I've impacted aren't just yet and then they impact other people and so on. I mean, my name will eventually be forgotten, but not all of me, I don't think.

Of all days, today was the day my department manager picked to start doing observations and critiquing how I interact with customers and upsell products and the store credit card. Normally, I would've been fine (maybe a little upset, but nothing a break wouldn't have smoothed over), but because I'm sick and on my period (I'm sick!anon a thread below this), everything just came to a head and I broke down. I'm still scared they're gonna fire me even though the HR manager was worried I was gonna quit (which I'm not because I desperately need this job), she's said that they try not to fire people, and a department coworker mentioned that I'm pretty much the only summer help they're gonna get. So I know logically that I'm pretty safe, but I just can't stop being upset and feeling like the Worst Employee Ever. I like my department, but I'm pretty sure I upsold myself a little too much during the interview and I think they're expecting me to know more than I do. I should've just said that I know jack shit because then at least they would've known they were going to be starting from scratch with me. Uhg.

I can't even be proud of learning how to do a phone order two days ago because I'm not in Customer Service and it will hardly apply to me and I'll likely forget how to do the damn thing the next time somebody else needs it.

When I was a teenager, people from my church used to ask me to draw things for them for work... like, this librarian asked me to draw a poster of a frog reading a book, and things like that. I think they thought of it as a compliment. To be fair it's not like my art is professional-quality, and they've done time-consuming things to help me, too, so I didn't mind.

I've also gotten really annoying strangers on Youtube demanding that I make AMV's for them. I said yes a few times if I actually liked their ideas, but some of them were sooo entitled about it. There was this one really obnoxious boy who asked me to make a video for him, and I said yes and got almost done with it but didn't get to finish it due to a bunch of computer problems, plus not having much time for video editing, plus losing interest... so when I sent him the half I had finished he was like, "Oh. Okay. Well, since you didn't finish this one, you should do something else to make up for it!" and he sent me his ideas for two other videos. Like, excuse me, since when do I have to "make up" for it?? And then when he watched the video he complained because I didn't make it the way he wanted it.

Anyway. I think personal trainers get this, too; my mom is one.
