There are a lot of unwanted kittens in the world. I'm sure it's kinder to have God euthanize them.

It... has a little bit to do with it. Within my first few weeks of wrestling I could easily pin a friend of mine who'd been at the sport for many years, purely by virtue of the fact that I was 150lbs (of mostly muscle) and she was 103. There's just no contest, sometimes, especially with grappling. That's why there are weight classes in the first place.

From what I've heard, Benedict bulked up a lot for this role so that could be it.

Dice rolls make the best games!

(Anonymous) 2013-05-21 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I can fucking fumble a coup de gras and cut off my own finger. Who does that?

One of our most memorable D&D games was when our paladin and his horse were pursuing a bad guy, and the paladin got out his lance and prepared to skewer the guy.

He fumbled. He rolled a critical, hit friend. The only 'friend' near him was the horse.

So our paladin ended up taking out his own horse, then fumbled his recovery and knocked himself out with his own sword. The bad guy got away, of course.

We STILL talk about that game!

Lestrade is my favorite character on the show, too.

Re: *looks down at own arm muscles* Uh-oh

[personal profile] ariakas 2013-05-21 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Women mostly build lean muscle. Very few have enough testosterone to really bulk up without artificial enhancements or years of weight training. Doesn't mean that lean muscle isn't strong as hell though.

That said, it's painful to watch when her stunt doubles have a completely different (and usually much more athletic) body type than ScarJo. Especially that scene in Iron Man 2 where they pasted her face onto the stunt double's body for all of the kicks and flips... hoooooly uncanny valley.

LOL, those repressed Victorians, they have secret swearwords even in place names!

I will never understand what kind of thought-process can lead to some people comparing material objects with inmateral ideas.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
You can't go with Nivea! It's a completely different product line - he won't understand you!! LISTEN TO MOMMY, and get back in the cabinet.

Re: Cutting yourself.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
I have to say, it's not necessarily bad to want attention. I never cut, but when I was in middle school I would hit myself in front of others. And partly it was for attention - it was basically me saying, "I need help, pay attention, I'm distressed and everything feels terrible and no one notices, so maybe you'll notice this!" (And when I realized everyone ignored even that, and indeed just scorned me for it, I started only hurting myself in private, and eventually had a major breakdown because I never got any fucking help.)

No, it is not a healthy way of getting attention. But sometimes you need attention, and younger people especially might have a hard time finding another way of communicating that they need help.

Also, I feel like there's this catch-22 where if you show any visible signs of mental illness, or talk about it openly, you're deemed an attention-seeking faker - as if the only legitimate way to be mentally ill is to hide it from everyone in shame, which of course means everyone thinks you're not mentally ill (because you're hiding it). And I feel like the sort of attitude you have plays into that...

Re: Not sure if troll...

(Anonymous) 2013-05-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Troll can mean stupid person with a stupid opinion. It's got multiple meanings like several other words.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-21 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Did you miss the part where she fucking stole one of their energy blasting staffs? Which she later upgraded for one of their flying things? And then grabbed Loki's staff?

Black Widow's signature move is using her opponents weapons against them - literally and figuratively.

It's really, really, really fucking hard to find an entire group of people who not only get along, but enjoy tabletop RPing in the same way. My own group struggled with this for years, until it was only a handful of us who remained.

Some people love RP-intensive diceless; others love pure a pure tactics game and hardly act out their "character" at all. Most people are somewhere in between. But that "in between" is such a vast swath with myriad iterations that... yeah, it's tough.

If you really don't enjoy it, though, and you think talking to the GM about it would only result in all drama and no change, then there's no point in showing up, is there? Hang out with your friends in a different context.

This! I pay for Netflix in my country... all the shows and movies I want to see are Netflix USA only. Shows that are free in the websites of their producers, are region-locked. So, sorry, no. As soon as a payable option is available, I pay for it. If not, it's downloading for me.

OP

Urgh, see, THIS PICTURE. It's making my libido shrivel up and die, and I swear he looks just like this to me in everything but ST.

That book has the same cover as George Eliot's Middlemarch

I'm fairly certain your assumption is correct. That probably counts as a form of digital IP protection (blocking content not licensed to a particular country), and under the US's DMCA, circumventing such things is illegal. Or at least, I can see that argument being made. It is, after all, a way of gaining access to something outside the proper, legally-established channel. However, I haven't come across anything yet to settle it one way or another, but I might just be sucking at the internet atm.

Haha, thanks!

The extreme differences seen in the show are not typical of undyed hair.

I've never met someone with that big a difference in hair and eyebrow colour who I didn't later find out that they died their hair.

Why don't you ask the person it was a comic for?

Hi I don't have mother issues and I don't see my mother in Gothel, so am I 'allowed' to say this? SHE.DIDN'T.LOVE.RAPUNZEL.

SHE.LOVED.HER.HAIR. THAT IS IT! The powers that be at Disney have even outright clarified this.

I think Tumblr's other boyfriend Tom Hiddleston also has this problem of being strange looking except in motion, though him I do at least find moderately attractive.
