After reading this, I removed the $5 Death Note sticker off my computer.

3. Maybe I still need to watch more (I've seen up to episode 13), but I really don't think Higurashi is as violent as you're making it out to be? Most of the acts are implied, and even if they weren't, there's a lot worse stuff out there.

Rika's death at the end of episode 13 was pretty fucked up, though, I'll give you that.

34. I think people would give you more flack for being an elitist asshole than they would to someone who is getting into the fandom *late* as it would seem. I read the manga while it was coming out, but I'm not jumping up and down saying how much better I am then someone who happened to discover the story through the anime or dub or what have you.

Also, it's clear already that there is a fandom backlash against Death Note since the anime came out just casue it's become popular and anything popular is not 'cool enough' for alot of people. They seems not to recognize that there is usually a reason why something is popular. But then again, alot of the time these are the same people who were all over how 'cool' the manga was 2-3 years ago *rolls eyes*

7. I love Danny Elfman! He's my favorite film composer. (And an awesome person in general--when my high school marching band did a field show devoted to his work, he actually ARRANGED THE MUSIC HIMSELF. How awesome is that?!) I like his music so much better than John Williams'. I just wish he got more of the recognition he deserves.

3. I don't watch the show for the violence... It's the story and the characters. I've always enjoyed a good mystery, and that's why I enjoy Higurashi. I wouldn't wish any of the stuff that goes on in the show on anyone else and I'm really disgusted that someone would make such a baseless accusation about fans of the show.

Besides, I couldn't tell you how many times I cried during certain episodes. Like I said, I wouldn't wish any of the stuff that happens in the show on anyone, let alone actually COMMIT any of the acts seen on the show.

3. I like Higurashi because it makes sense and is actually enjoyable to watch versus Naruto which my opinion on watching is; 'Oh great, another new episode...'
And the series isn't just about the violence... There is a plot, just hard to fully understand until you watch Kai.
