I don't know where the meme came from either. But it amuses me.

Someone shopped a crown of Roses onto the Doctor. And by crown of Roses, I mean crown of made out of images of Rose Tyler's face.

And I laughed for 5 minutes because I am easily amused.

When my friend told me that one of the "Hannibal" guys wore an actual flower crown at the Hannibal panel during SDCC, the meme suddenly felt very surreal to me.

I don't know where this meme came from, but I am so sick of seeing fanart and manipulated images of people in flower crowns. I don't think it is appropriative or anything, I am just sick of seeing them.

Yes. Because something has to be appropriative or -ist or [insert other SJ buzzword here] before you're allowed to dislike it, find it overdone, or be annoyed by it. Anything and everything you dislike HAS to be oppressive or offensive somehow, and if it insn't at a glance, you should keep grasping at straws until you find an SJ-approved dismissal to stick to it. That's the fandom climate we've come to.

I've seen it here and there on my dash and icons, but thankfuly not everywhere. But it did had me very confused when I first saw it.

I'm not sick of them yet, and I think the art and photo manips can be very cute. That said, I hope I never get tired of Will Graham/Hugh Dancy in a flower crown when I eventually do (maybe probably?).

Also, appropriation? I guess the specific use of leis might be, but I don't see it. They're flowers. People tie flowers together and plop them on eachothers heads basically everywhere.

I actually kinda like those flower crowns, if only because it looks like something my mother or grandmother would do, only that they would be made out of local flowers and leaves.
