You are wrong

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
No. I hate this whole "if you really love doing something/have talent you do it no matter where you are and can't stop" philosophy. It's just dumb. Sometimes you are a writer and something gets in your way and you stop writing. It happens.

Sometimes even you fall out of love with writing for awhile. It doesn't make you any less of a writer. It makes you human.

I'd give them the week's notice and go, but I think you'll probably be burning bridges when it comes to teaching. If you're not going to be a TA again though, you're not losing anything.

I am voting for Hiram McDaniels.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Just go. Let them know why you're leaving (like the problems you've had in the three weeks there) so they have at least some hint on how to fix things in that classroom.

Otherwise, you'll be unhappy as long as you're there and unable to change anything, one-week notice or not.

I have no idea if they did or not, but Cumbercollective sounds like a cult. And for some reason I'm imagining them dressed as members of MIB...

I'm sorry about that.

Maybe you could use your experience to help the OP?

It's not working out and you'll gain nothing by staying, and the problems they have are not your fault. Move on. I hope the new job suits you better.

I think she's definitely too good for him. Cece, I'm not as certain. Personally, I want him to pick Cece because she's made me laugh and she's shown flaws. We haven't seen that much of Elizabeth, but she hasn't really made me laugh and she hasn't really shown any flaws, from what I remember. I feel like she belongs in his past.

It'll happen. Just don't look too hard to the point where it borders on desperation.

It's amazing how much shit a non-writer can churn out.

One of the main reasons why I just go for the fanarts. I haven't seen so much about skin colour and sexuality anywhere else in my life.

How can you trust someone if you can't look them in the eyes? Hiram has FIVE sets!

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. I completely understand how shyness can make you come off as snobby or boring, but not this. I'm terribly shy, and saying 'thank you' is such an automatic reaction for me I think I say it too much. I can't imagine what was going through this person's head! There's having poor social skills and there's, like, not interacting with humans.

I cannot imagine allowing someone to pay for EVERYTHING either....

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Pfft. If I let every writer whom I hate (a good number of them) make me stop writing, I would have stopped writing years ago.

Have you seen the newest ep?

Spoilers:

They both dump him.

I'd have loved it if Schmidt had chosen Elizabeth as she's not the typical model like woman on TV. But I always thought Schmidt/CeCe were end game :( I like CeCe and Schmidt better when they're not dating each other.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
NO.

There's not one perfect ideal way to be a writer, and the idea that someone's not a real writer if they're not constantly inspired or constantly writing is really discouraging for people who are struggling with their writing, whether it's the difficulties of the actual act of writing or the difficulties of being published or something else. People get writer's block. People lose their inspiration. People get discouraged for what others see as 'silly' reasons. That doesn't mean they aren't writers.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I've always been shy, and saying thank you used to be the hardest thing for me. I'd always think hard about saying it, how I needed to say it, but I'd freeze up and get scared that it would sound stupid or even sarcastic. I was convinced I'd come off as less rude by not saying anything.

I don't even remember how, but I eventually trained myself to say thank you so automatically that now I probably overuse it a bit. But it's not always the easiest thing for even a shy person to say.
