There is nothing more obnoxious than rabid fans (of anything, not just anime.) I mean, it's good to be passionate about something, but it's also important to take into consideration that maybe somebody doesn't think that anime is "teh shit"

Seriously, I'm a pretty easygoing person, but when it comes to people like that I really just want to slap them in the face a couple of times to try and knock sense into them. Anime is not the be all and end all of awesome.

I hate how people a re all 'you've ruined robin hood for me!' um... there are probably hundreds of versions of Robin Hood. If a company decides to make one that's funny and sort of 'swashbuckling', and that isn't gory even though you know that people die/get tortured, then... just LET THEM DO IT. It doesn't mean that there can't be a different version later on.

Of course the players with seniority or mod friends have a advantage. But, I'm not sure all of them know that, or how big it is, or what happens behind the scenes when they do something publicly. Whos going to tell them about it?

27. So, let's see if I got this right. You admit that she's fun, and haven't listed anything she's done wrong as a mod, making me think that you don't really have a problem with anything she's done yet. And yet you still thought it would be a better idea to post something publicly that you knew would hurt her instead of putting in more effort and trying to talk to her or one of the other mods about it. ...since when is this acceptable behavior?

1: Yay for the good side of anonymity. Personally, I don't like anonymity, since my experience (aside from the kink meme I participated in) has been that being anonymous and unbannable increases the odds of someone trolling or popping off with flames rather than actually engaging with me or providing useful feedback.

5: Sometimes I've wondered too. I have a deep connection to some fictional characters, I feel very protective of their characterization (especially in cases where it's later canon that fucks it up) and love to write or RP them, and I notice similarities between myself and them.

The difference between someone like you or me and the "crazy soulbonders," I think, is that we know these characters are absolutely fictional, do not exist, have never existed in reality and our "resemblances" are due to the characters matching archetypes similar to those we match. We also know that we are not them, and they do not dwell in us.

For example, I love Hiro Nakamura as a character. I have a lot in common with his personality and interests, and I hate how S2 canon has fucked with his characterization. I've even cosplayed him at a con, and I like to write him and RP as him.

Nevertheless, I know he's NOT FUCKING REAL and I'm NOT HIM and that there's many things different about me. If I began to believe I was fronting him as a personality or that I could travel through time or ever had homicidal thoughts at all, I'd immediately check myself in for psychiatric treatment, get a ton of sleepy meds, and never watch the show or write fic again.

11: Yeah, people like those make the rest of us (who are anime and manga fans AND slash/yaoi writers AND falling under GLBTQI) get treated like shit since people are convinced that all of them in one person means that one person is "one of those." I really hope someone can get through to him or her about that.

36: *hugs you* I hate it when people say that "fandom/the internet isn't real" as an excuse for making other people feel horrible. It's emotional abuse in many cases, no matter what the abuse is over, and the injuries from it ARE real.

Seriously, would some of these people go "Baseball isn't serious business, you could have prevented this by not wearing that shirt" if someone slugged you in the face for wearing a Red Sox shirt? Forget the bleeding nose, forget that your assailant had no right to hit you for liking a team he hates, since it's not SRS BZNS, the results of abuse resulting from it aren't supposed to hurt? WTF.

39: Hee!~ I wonder if the creators in some of my fandoms like reading slash about their characters. I know the mangaka in my main fandom finds bad/rushed slash/yaoi shocking and funny, so I know he's got to have read some. Someday, I want to write something so good that if he still reads his own fandom and finds mine, he'd be happy with what I took away from his own depiction of their love for each other. ^____^

You should get some help, though. I forgot to add that in my OP, but yeah, you could use some help. Don't be ashamed about it though: if someone beat you up repeatedly, you'd need a doctor. Someone's likely beaten your emotions and mental state up a fair bit, and you just need a little help for the wounds.

Totally squealed when I saw this secret. OMG. XD I love the wraith so very much. I don't know, something about them just exudes awesome, I guess. And Michael... Man, there have been times I've considered playing him and KNEW I just could NOT do him justice so I dropped the idea almost as soon as I had it. Trinneer is awesome, the character is awesome, and someone needed to shove a red-hot poker in that whole idea that humans were the most awesome thing in the whole universe. And just because -- Okay, I need to stop now before I write an essay, but yes. Michael awesome.

27. Biz is the person you should absolutely listen to here, but MY CHIP, IT IS THROWN: If you're concerned about a decision the mods make, howsabout emailin' the mods? I mean, it IS what we're there for, and if you want some insight into our brilliant moderator mindset for choosing another mod (Hint: mine includes a lot of cheesy ravioli) we'll give it. I hadn't played with her for months, myself, though I do know that she's kind, personable, online all the time, can post polls for us, and the fact that I hadn't played with her in forever also made her a prime candidate.

But yes, we have "EMAIL MODS WITH CONCERNS ABOUT MOD STUFF" all over the userinfo for a reason! So a player doesn't get publicly bullied by an unknown group like this due to concerns unrelated to her actual self and is instead judged by her presumed friends, as this is not so awesome. Have some faith in my lack of ability to form a conspiracy, dudes and dudettes, I have way too much homework to do beyond "HOW ABOUT HER. SHE'S NICE." And she is, doshgarn it, like we'd pick some craaazy person to put up your voting polls! (We could even do moderating stuff too if people emailed us with their more difficult feelings before they started feeling really rotten!)

In general though, I think you guys are overestimating us a little here. ): I cannot even keep up with all the goings on in our wacky zombie RP anymore, hence the need for a helping hand. I don't even know my own RP's mod conspiracy theories, man. And the only bad part I can see about this is knowing people I like might be scared of me. I can't even cook chocolate chip cookies right.
