anyone started buying yet? I just bought my sister the pokemon soulsilver game for DS for Christmas. it was really expensive and I'm not into video games at all so I can't really understand why the prices are so high, but it's something her fiance said she's wanted for a while, so.

so has anyone else gotten into holiday spirit early? or is there a birthday present that you were excited to buy someone?

Haven't bought anything yet, but my mother actually has a thing she wants this year so I at least know what to look for. There are only three people I actually buy gifts for; everyone else gets baked goods.

I wish my mum actually wanted a thing! I got her a hand lotion set as her first present but I have no idea what else to get. I also bake treats for my friends' presents.

I did! Although only because Squishables was having a sale that ended yesterday, so I bought part of my boyfriend's christmas gift.

For his birthday I got him the massive corgi (and seriously, those things are huge and awesome!), so I've been joking that I should get him all the other sizes too. (And then we should make a tower of corgis!) Given the sale, well... he'll be getting the mini cardigan corgi squishable. And I bought myself the mini jellyfish, just because I can.

Non-holiday stuff, my best friend's birthday is coming up, and she likes wokring out. About a month ago, themarysue.com linked to an etsy store that sells geeky workout shirts, so I got her two tanks, one that has the Mario star and says something about powering up, and one that says "I want to be the very best" with a barbell sticking through a pokeball.

TBH I'm kind of dreading buying presents but I tried to get some of my bff's presents early. It didn't necessarily work out because what she wanted was delayed. :(

the nail polish kits sound really cool! my best friend lives in Korea so I'm dreading sending her present over cost-wise. I have a whole backpack full of random stuff that I'm excited to send, but nervous due to price. :/ I;ll have to do it one of these days of course.

money's tight at home for us too so I bet my family will be in the same boat. luckily I worked intense hours at my part-time (ended up being full-time!) job over the summer and have some money saved for gifts.

My sister wants to celebrate Christmas for the first time this year but all she asked for is video of a sleepy Tom Hiddleston snuggled in bed wearing glasses and reading obscure erotic poetry. Bonus points if it's raining and he is wearing yoga pants and a henley. In other words I think she wants the keys to tumblr.

I bought something already for my dad. He's super easy to shop for. I bought a copy of White Whine (from this blog) which is pretty funny (I bought a copy for myself also) and he likes little trivia/funny story books for putting in the bathroom and reading or putting on his nightstand.

Shopping for my mom is always really, really hard. =/ (anyone have any great gift ideas? I could always use some inspiration...)

Shopping for my friends (I have 2 or 3 I will buy gifts for) isn't that bad. uh. one of them reads f!s so I'm not going to say anything else about that... *shifty look*

My brother is easy to please. My sister likes a lot of things but most of them are beyond my budget; however, I can usually find something that she will appreciate. (I wish I were as good at shopping for her as she is at shopping for everyone. She will pick out clothes for me when my mom is buying them and they're always things that fit my tastes perfectly. No matter what she gets, it's almost always something I adore.)

What kind of stuff does your mom like? I'm usually pretty good at coming up with neat little gifts for hard to buy for people. My mom usually gives me five word summaries of her coworkers or links their facebook and now she has an office rep for giving great gifts.

Just last month she told me one of her coworkers she didn't know too well had a lot of magnets and pictures of her family so my mom's contribution to the birthday gift basket was custom magnets of her favorite family photos on facebook. Really cheap and were a big hit. Personalized things always seem to be.

Not my most creative but definitely favorite good idea was when she told me the only thing she knew about her tutor was that she really liked Parks and Rec and doing her nails and we put together a "treat yo self" basket.

I haven't started my shopping yet, but I was at the store earlier and there was Christmas stuff everywhere. It seems so bizarre because it doesn't feel like the holidays yet at all to me...it seems like it should still be July or something.

Gaaaaah, I haven't even started thinking about presents yet. My dad is simple, I just need to ask him what he wants(he doesn't like surprises). Same with the bf but that's mainly because if I try to surprise him with a game the bugger will have already gotten it for himself.

Everyone else is thankfully easy, I'll end up getting my mum something cat related most likely.

OMG I got Heart Gold when it came out and my sister has Soul Silver. Then again, that's because we both had the original Gold & Silver way back when for GameBoy Color.

It's a tradition that my mom and buy the Hallmark ornaments for Christmas presents in July as soon as they come out.

Otherwise I've only planned the list of people I'm buying for and I always write my Christmas cards to mail out during Thanksgiving weekend.

I knit/crochet, so I'm starting to draft up my annual Christmas crafting list.

My sister and my roommate are getting Harry Potter and Mami Tomoe amigurumi tree ornaments respectively.

Some of my coworkers are going to get bookmarks. Another coworker is getting a blue hat. And ANOTHER coworker shall be getting a ski mask with a bitcoin on it.

As for the rest of my family, my aunts are going to get soap/candles/bathwash. My dad is going to get socks/whatever cool electronic gizmo he'll tell my sister and I to double up on. My grandpa is going to get stamps. My cousins are going to get cool toys/puzzles for themselves or for their kids. My grandmas and my mom are going to get... something. IDEK THEY ARE TERRIBLE TO SHOP FOR.
