10- I know how this is. It sucks when a fandom gets connected specifically to a person and then the series itself is ruined for you because of a person in the fandom. I wish it were possible to keep fandom and the actual canon separate (as in not letting fandom influence your enjoyment of the canon), but sometimes it's just really difficult to do. I wish I could think of some of my fandoms without sour thoughts, but because I sometimes can't it just tarnishes the canon for me.

Wow, two IY secrets in a post. That's just strange.

14- I don't like the Key games or their adaptations. I actually find them sort of disturbing. I also wish people didn't try to force them on me. It isn't that I mind when people on my friends list post about them and squee, but I hate OMG YOU HAVE TO WATCH ITTTT directed at me, even when I've already said I'm not interested.

How so? It's not like I'll disown my child if they dont, I'll just be... disappointed. It's just that I named if I named him after someone great(in my opinion), then I'll expect him to be great as well? I honestly cant expect him to be an exact replica of either character, because that's impossible. But if my son Kamina drops out of middle school and becomes a hobo(Although, Simon..) with alcohol and gambling problems then I'll pretty much feel... pretty upset that I named him Kamina. I'll love him regardless, but hopefully you see what I mean now?

9. Oh~ Wild Adapter! I really need to finish reading what's out there of it(and re-read what I did read 'cause it's been awhile x.x). And I don't think you're the only with that sentiment--though admittedly Saiyuki has like a whole chunk of my fandom heart, I've seen people who prefer Wild Adapter over it. ;D

25. Even among my friends that are gamers I feel kinda of out of place. I'm not an FPS person - but I love fighting and strategy games, though more action adventure. which .. you know, most of the girls I have known who are gamers like RPG's and maybe DDR/Pump/Guitar Hero/whatever but that's it. it's sad times. ;; I miss playing things like Starcraft and Unreal Tournament, too.

the only thing that really gets me is I keep current on news and I always know what's new even if I don't care about it, but I know maybe .. one, two people who can keep up with me in a discussion. SIGH.

15. I loved Twilight!Jacob. Back when he was cute and awkward and nice. Post-Wolfiness!Jacob, as far as I'm concerned, can jump into a volcano. I love Edward, but I loved Jacob more than him back before he became a complete prick.

Now I kinda have to take what I can get.

25. How about you just tell them you aren't into that sort of thing so they'll stop chattering about it? I can't play FPS games, myself, because I get motion sick. (Not kidding.) I still loved what I managed to watch my brother play of Perfect Dark. Does that mean everyone will? Of course not.

Let people make their own decisions, and stop getting cranky with them for it. They can play whatever the heck they want--if you don't approve, deal with it.

9. Why would you feel guilty about that? Everyone has their own preferences. I love all of Kazuya Minekura's work, however, Wild Adapter is considerably more 'mature' in plot and art style because she changed so much from writing Saiyuki. (Seriously, compare volume 1 of Saiyuki to Wild Adpter or even Saiyuki RELOAD.) Thusly so, people who delve in her manga tend to be pulled towards Wild Adapter more. From what I see, anyways. It seems to me that people who love Saiyuki more than anything else she's done have seen the anime first or have never read any of her other work at all.
Anyways, the rest of Kazuya Minekura's work is definitely under appreciated. Especially Bus Gamer. NEEDS MOAR BUS GAMER.

Buuuut I kind of agree with you on the stigma thing, because I'm really shy of admitting it in real life too for the same reasons. I'm a geek, yes, but I'm not a moron, and it seems to me that if you parade around as an anime fan in real life, you're dubbed as both. There's no such thing as a casual fan, no such thing as people just not giving a damn about where the cartoon came from as long as it's entertaining.

I don't even have posters up in my room because I'm just a fan, not a fanatic, and I would die if one of my friends got the wrong idea.

25 - I see your point, but I also feel the need to defend myself too. I like cute games a lot. Nothing pleases me more than sitting there for hours playing Animal Crossing or Sims/Sims 2. I don't do it because that's what I think I'm supposed to play as a girl who likes games, but because that's just what I like. Of course, I like other things like Zelda, Phoenix Wright, Elite Beat Agents (although I'm not very good at it) Guitar Hero, various incarnations of Mario, Street Fighter and even the Civilisation games.
As for FPS games, I DO find them too hard, but I think that's largely because I have a very hard time looking around the entire screen for things to shoot at, and by the time I do find something to shoot, it's usually killed me.
So while I somewhat agree with you, I'd just like to point out that not all girls who play cute games are doing it for those reasons. I just like cute games.
