I relate to Arya sooo much more, and I didn't care for Sansa in the first book because she seemed like kind of a brat, but once her character started to grow I liked her.

Yeah, that response is dumb. Basically: "she's more masculine obv she is better!" and people don't really realize they are saying this :/

only thing that I can kinda get on board with is Arya's more of a rebel and fights the roles pushed on her, while at first Sansa appears to totally embrace her role, and I can see why one or the other might appeal to people. But even that gets more complicated as Sansa finds herself trapped and in danger because of her vulnerable position. (aaaand then I haven't read far enough to want to say more lest I be spoiled by discussion)

I have a lot of fandoms. A lot of very different fandoms. I'm not sure actually if we're in any of the same fandoms? I know you're really into shows. uh. my biggest/most recent fandoms? Mass Effect, Homestuck, ATLA/LoK, MLP, YGO, Portal, Legend of Zelda, MCU movieverse/SHIELD, uhhh, I'm really sleepy and probably forgetting some x.x

Re: Weird character comparisons you've received

My mother compared me to Lisbeth Salander once.

...of all the fucked up people in my family, I'm actually one of the saner ones.

Re: OP here

Pretty much yeah. A guy would hopefully not be a rapist but if they're acting creepy (intentionally or not) it would set off creeper-warning bells and I'd want him to fuck off stat. Err on the side of caution and all that.

Eta: Then every now and then you might have the experience that verges beyond creepy and kind of...refreshes those warnings and brings them all back to mind.

Re: do women who aren't SJWs really think this?

[personal profile] caerbannog 2014-03-02 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realise that line is somehow meant to be flirtation, I can only really see it as either a condescending asshole or some kind of creepy bullying.

"Little girl" = yuck, get off my porch.

I just want her to do some acoustic stuff. I actually love her singing.

I don't think artists need to quit music altogether. Some artists just decide they don't have to go after big hits anymore and just do their own thing. Which is usually great for the musician and the the fans.

Re: Tropes!!

[personal profile] iceyred 2014-03-02 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
I hate the 'easily forgiven' trope, or when a character is dumped on when they have trouble forgiving someone. 'OMG that thing happened three episodes ago. Get over it already!'

No. Some shit is serious and forgiveness can take a while.

As for tropes I love...is red hair a trope? All Heroines Love Redheads? No? Well, I also like the trope where a bad guy tries (and succeeds) to redeem himself (hi, Zuko).

70cm nose to tail, I weigh about 3kg.

Favorites: H/C, angels being BFFs or in love with demons, redemption (preferably that doesn't involve the redeemed character dying.) Forgiveness FTW.

A lot of vengeance and grudge-related tropes just turn me off entirely.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I like season four so far, if only slightly for the wank it causes. Twilight's love interest from Equestria Girls making a cameo caused a stir like Broni Friendzoni did, as well.

5'8" 185 lbs

I'm overweight but nowhere near as much as it looks. In the best shape of my life (as a fully grown adult) I was 165 lbs.

Re: what's your height/weight

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
You're about the same height and maybe 10-20 lbs heavier than me. (Me being an anon who posts here almost daily. Haven't had the nerve to step on a scale in a while though.)

Re: Trying to wipe and get rid of a computer

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Before you recycle/destroy check to see if there are any parts you can sell. I had a system nearly as old as yours and one of the IT guys at work bought it for $200. He said there are places online where people sell stuff like that and there are always guys building computers who are looking for parts, even if they're really old.

Eh, probably that I keep moving and forgetting to tell them for months on end.

Oh, and possibly that I'm still single? But I think that's a general nosy parent concern.

Aaaaand probably my general health on account of autoimmune problemos~

I honestly don't know. I think my mom thinks I married the wrong person (she still tries to introduce me to men who have lots of money she thinks would be good for me) but my dad doesn't seem to worry about me other than just generally hoping I stay happy and healthy.

Re: How do you think the members of your OTPs or brOTPs would react to the other's death?

[identity profile] mimi-sardinia.livejournal.com 2014-03-02 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Given that my OTP is joined by a soulbond that means if one dies the other does too... He'd die. Then they'd go lump on Aulë.

And this is not just in the slash AU I RP, that bond is in the original fanfic (which gen/friendship) as well.

I think it depends a little on whether you think of yourself as writing or escaping when you sit down to put words together. I think of myself as writing. Sometimes it's an escape. Sometimes it's because I've got a story I want to write. Sometimes it's because I promised something to someone else. But I've got more reasons than one for wanting to write, so my state of happy or sad doesn't play into whether or not I'm writing. (Too busy to spend the time at the keyboard... now that's something else that definitely gets in the way.)

Try drabbling. 100 words a night doesn't take very long, and it's a good way to prime the creative pump. Doesn't have to be fanfiction. Heck, you could write haikus and it would still get you back to playing with language. And your sweetie might like the results, too!

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
I agree completely.

Re: Tropes!!

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder if writers prefer disabled-by-injury because of the (perhaps highly unrealistic) possibility that the character can someday be made not-disabled (or at least have the possibility dangled in front of them for drama). I don't think that scenario actually gets played out much, so I'm probably just being uncharitable.
