Cool.

Through copious amounts of alcohol and friends. Eating with someone you don't know and then also figuring out who pays is like my biggest nightmare. I would much rather get to know them at a party or other places where money and/or food isn't involved.

I don't think they are meant to be sexy. The general reaction to designs was 'what the hell is this shit, it's too ridiculous'. There were even people saying that no way the show could be good with those designs and that they had ruined Senketsu's regular cool appearance (this was before it aired, when the designs were leaked). And this was mostly men, the ones the outfits are supposed to appeal to.

Somebody not liking something you like doesn't mean you're oppressed. Somebody saying your work is problematic doesn't mean you're oppressed. Somebody flaming your work arbitrarily doesn't even mean you're oppressed.

It just means that somebody doesn't like a thing you like.

The "shark week" monologue from Community. The rest of the jokes were hit-or-miss in that pilot-y sort of "I think I could like this once it finds its feet" way, but that scene, and especially Joel McHale's delivery, amde me go, "Oh, this is gonna be a show that gets me."

Mine arrives around late afternoon, my mom gets her mail in the morning. We live about two miles apart.

Usually, if your mail time changes to a much later time, it means a new person is doing the route.

This is why I love those charities

I don't need the money for my fic personally, but I like being commissioned. I like the idea that my writing in particular, combined with a general plot/trope/idea, is something people want to pay for. It's a nice little ego boost, and it hurts exactly no one.
