Because she's god. She can pull off anything.

I know next to nothing about Kill la Kill other than apparently it's amazing, but I do agree with you, (at least from this picture) there's nothing at all sexy about those outfits; they're just ridiculous.

(However if I liked the anime, I would probably watch it regardless of the fanservice. I'm pretty used to fanservice at this point.)

Re: Sleep disorders

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
That could be the answer!

My mother, on the other hand, told me quite seriously that it was probably my two aunts, who used to sleep in that room, and who worked the late shift at the family restaurant...

There absolutely are free equivalents to Photoshop. They may not be as polished as PS, but they exist and I've seen artists do wonders on them. Just as there are programs for writers that aren't free, but better than the free tools.

And with just one commission, some artists will be able to pay for a tablet, depending on their rates. Just as a writer may for his purchase of Scrivener, for example.

What about a friend you wanted to have a relationship with?

Re: TW: sexual assualt

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm really not. This type of ignorance is really common. Although who ever this ignorant little girl is who is purposely harassing other tumblr users by giving out there personal information needs to be reported. I'd imagine she's violating tumblr's TOS.

But speaking as a sexual abuse survivor and having a stepmother who was raped by her own brother more than a few times, being sexually violated doesn't automatically eliminate your own sexual urges. For some, it does and makes you less likely to become sexually active if at all. For others like my stepmother and I, it doesn't. Sure, there's trust issues, but you still have sexual urges. And in some cases of sexual abuse survivors, you're actually more likely to become sexually active than the average person who never grew up with any abuse (think borderline nymphomania).

Yeah, in America we tend to approach with conversation and activities. Physical stuff comes later, though how much later depends.

Re: What Time of Day Does the Mail Arrive?

[personal profile] caffeine_buzz 2014-03-05 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Mine usually shows up sometime between 12-2 (I live close to my work and usually go home for lunch, and it's normally there by the time I get home or it arrives as I'm leaving to go back). Unless I'm waiting on a package I expect to have to sign for, then it always manages to come late enough to ensure no one's home and I have to go to the post office for it.

I'd bet a case of beer this is a troll blog.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Usually between 3 and 4 PM. Now that I think about it, we live on the very edge of town, so we might be pretty late into our mail carrier's route? I dunno if that's how it works, though.

ForgottenJester explained it pretty well. It's not a trait I come across often, or have even given much thought to.

Sweet. That's what I was leaning toward after starting to learn Italian.

Re: I had a thought:

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
One reply and a misunderstanding already xD If you are out doing something with friends and meet someone, you are approaching them with conversation and activities. You're just not on a date to specifically try out that person as a partner. By using the idiom hook up I wasn't saying it necessarily means meeting and immediately kissing and having sex. It's just that you guys have no word (that I know) for how it happens here.

Re: Repeat after me, kids!

I've seen way too many fair-minded writers get shit on because some element in their story could be taken out of context to mean something that it contextually didn't mean. It's the social justice equivalent of those folks who thought Harry Potter promoted amorality because the villain made amoral statements. Sometimes, there really isn't anything "problematic" about the work that's being decried, and it's unfair to give the people who call it problematic absolute power to decide what its message is.

You know, when I look back on all the other Star Wars-inspired kinks I've seen on the internet over the years, reading your secret is like the mental equivalent of a wholesome gentle breeze on a sunny day for me. Don't be ashamed of your kink, mostly because it's awesome, but also because if it brings you and your boyfriend that much joy, then you two deserve to enjoy it to the fullest and to hell with anyone who would judge you.

Also, Jedi robes are pretty hot.

Audrey/Nathan/Duke (Haven)

Cold Light by novembersmith, rated R. "Summary: "You're going to love this," he assures her, and she cocks an eyebrow at him, clearly intrigued. "Go on. What weird mythological creature haven't we covered yet?""

Best Laid Schemes by [profile] alethialia, rated NC-17. "Summary: These people had no respect for the urgency of Nathan being able to feel, touching Duke and looking at him, all 'do me now.'"

Customers who want me to help them but won't get off their freaking cell phones. I had it happen twice the other day when working, that someone on their phone would come up to my window, ask a question, and then when I start to answer hold up a finger like "Just a minute!" and start yapping on their phone. You asked me for help. If you can't get off your damn phone for a minute to let me answer, then get outta my window and come back when you're done. In fact, anyone who's on their phone and needs something, but rather than just getting off the phone and asking tries to do some kind of funky pantomime. This is not charades. If you have a question, need to borrow a pen, whatever, then get off your phone and ask properly.
