It's nice to think of Lent as a period of transformation, but framing it as a time where deprivation isn't the point is... well, not understanding what Lent is. Lent is traditionally about atonement and self-denial. You're transformed, yes... by your voluntary self-deprivation of something you would ordinarily not go without.

That sounds kind of harsh, but hey, welcome to religion.

ME3 multiplayer is VASTLY more enjoyable when you're just with friends. Playing with randoms always ends in you bleeding out and everyone else too busy getting kills to revive you.

The one thing I've noticed is that the game has a very strange way of crediting killing blows to someone else. Their scoring is also somewhat unfair, too. I've gotten a big mob from full health to two bullets from dead and someone swoops in to grab the kill and I get a measly 100 point assist reward for my time.

So, just keep at it, and you'll get where you're going. Hopefully, the booster packs are a little more forgiving about giving out good stuff on the regular now, because it was frustrating as hell to save up for several of the 99000 credit packs (or actually spend money on it) and get character boosts for your human basic characters.

I'm different - I love it when I find a fic with only one switched, to see how the dynamic changes. Extra bonus points occur where one of the characters is canonically misogynistic and the friend is genderswapped.

But then again, I just really love most, if not all, genderswap.

Sometimes these Rule 63 fics have tons of gender essentialist bullshit and that really annoys me. It's more obvious when only one character is swapped.

The woman who emailed me after I had already stopped working at this place to ask me to give her back an old printed version of an Excel document because, she said, the formatting changes I made when I updated it made the font too small when it was printed out. But I hadn't even changed the formatting in the slightest.

I just watched the trailer Noodle linked. That looks like a good movie and I would like to see it in the cinema. I don't go to the cinema often, maybe two or three times a year, so if this is my mid-year movie... :)

This. I used to do traditional art and good markers and colored pencils are expensive as hell. That's not even counting sketchbooks, erasers, pencils, pens for inking, the scanner you need to scan your art, etc.

All of that stuff really adds up if you're doing art on anywhere near a regular basis.

I observe Lent, but I'm not giving up anything this year (other than forcing myself to go to bed before midnight every night). Instead, every time there's an option to donate money at a checkout, I'm going to contribute at least $5.

I'd have less problem with the situation you're describing if it weren't always the character people consider "more effeminate" who gets swapped, never the "manly" one with more fangirls. Maybe the latter is harder to conceive but for me, that makes it interesting. I don't think swapping guy-guy to guy-girl necessarily means homophobia, but I do think it's pretty lazy given what I described.

Slightly off-topic, but I was in Japan a few months ago and I didn't realize I'd accidentally walked into a store specializing in erotic manga because THE COSTUME ON THIS SHOW'S PROTAGONIST IS SO GODDAMN REVEALING.
