That sentence was obviously against the people that ship any and all slash no matter how little they know about the charachters, and not against people that like slash in general.

...because it's not as if Deadpool spent an ENTIRE comic/multiple scenes hitting on Spider-Man or anything

Have you seen the tumblr versions of Deadpool? There's a difference between Deadpool hitting on someone and someone who has never read the comic but goes by what's posted on tumblr version of Deadpool hitting on someone. One is murderously insane usually with tacos and the other is often wacky and mildly slapstick if at all.

To be fair, there is a large disconnect between the way he's written in fic and the way he's written in comics. He's far more violent in the comics than in fandom, for example.

Not that I'm defending them, because seriously some people don't seem to have ANY first hand understanding of the comics, but considering all the different writers, all the reboots, and all the varying backstories/personality traits/explanations/evolutions, how do you keep a character consistent when he's canonically changing all the damn time anyways?

Yeah, I admit I'm not a fan of this pairing. I get what it's based off of, but I still think it just doesn't fit both of them that well, at all. (It doesn't help that it's usually included in the 'Super Family' context, where Steve and Tony are Peter Parker's parents. Really just not a fan of all that.)

Eh. I ship it, but as a one-sided pseudo-crush that Deadpool exaggerates both in his own mind and perhaps occasionally to whoever will pay attention long enough. Granted, it's also my headcanon that Deadpool occasionally tells whoever will pay attention long enough all about how Captain America totally has a thing for him and got super jealous when Black Widow tried to sit on Deadpool's lap during a car ride and of course that's the way it happened how dare you.

I agree that OOC fanfiction is terrible and Spideypool or whatever it's called now usually is terribly written (I stopped trying to find good ones and especially ones that weren't Superfamily with Wade being the slightly wacks bad boy boyfriend that daddy Tony didn't like).

But I'm also tired of the people who insist that Deadpool is some sort of super deep complex character. Because he is and will always be a crack character at heart. That's his purpose.

My main beef with this pairing is that Deadpool obviously belongs with Bea Arthur, goddammit.

I was neutral to the ship until the Superfamily clusterfuck latched it's claws onto it. Now my hate for it (and Superfamily) burns like a thousand suns in the pits of hell.
