I've read about this but I feel like I'm missing something. What I know is that he's had sex with fans and every time the fan gave consent. But I think now some are saying they didn't have a choice to say no because he's a youtube celebrity and they didn't want to have sex with him but had to consent.

Is this correct? I really hope I'm wrong because this whole thing scares me.

Here's a comprehensive compilation of the whole ordeal. There certainly were cases of non-consensual stuff going on and his response is pretty skeevy.

You can't say no to sex with a 'youtube celebrity' now? I'm sorry, I've never heard of this guy, but it seems beyond weird to me that being a 'youtube celebrity' could be thought by anyone to be important enough to have any bearing on sex.

These guys are predators. That's for sure.

But who are these idiots who go to these strangers' homes to camp out simply because the stranger is a youtube "celebrity?" Did anyone tell them of stranger danger? How the hell did they manage to allude the guys with vans who were giving away "free candy"? You don't know these guys. They are putting the best light on themselves on their videos. When the cameras go off, they could be real creeps. And it turns out quite a few are.

What has happened to common sense in the age of youtube?

You're right but you're also victim blaming. Everybody should be safe at all times and act accordingly and then it isn't their fault if they've put themselves in an unsafe position.

There's something that's always bothered me about this notion, and I am going to try to put it into words. Please bear with me.

Apart from family members, every person with whom you have a relationship starts out as a stranger. The first time you hang out with or go on a date with someone, you know very little about them. The first time you go over to someone's house, you still generally know very little about them. The first time you kiss someone, you still don't know too terribly much (I'm basing this off of the notion that most people kiss someone for the first time only a few dates in, and while a few dates is enough to know whether one piques romantic interest, it's not enough to really "know" that person).

In the process of forming relationships, we constantly expose ourselves. You can't form a relationship without exposing yourself.

On top of that, even if you get to know someone, that person might still wind up doing something horrible to you. Most assaults are not committed by someone the victim knew.

I'm not saying that it was wise of these girls to do what they did. But I really don't like the idea that there's something wrong and nonsensical about doing something with a stranger, or that it's more dangerous to do something with a stranger.

All I know was that youtube kept recommending his channel to me but something about him seemed very off when I finally got around to watching a video and I thought the guy was skeevy as fuck. Thank you OP for telling us about this.

Also maybe you can just turn on adblock when you watch his videos so you're not supporting him? It's a tricky situation when you like the content of an awful person. Do know it doesn't make you an awful person too. Just because you find him funny or entertaining, doesn't mean you support anything else he does or think he's a good person. I'm not sure I'm explaining myself properly...sorry.

He just sounds like a massive creep. I wish I could be surprised that a guy used his celebrity to manipulate younger women and cheat on his girlfriend repeatedly but yeah, sadly I'm really not. It sounds like a lot of people are going through their first 'shit, people in this fandom I call home can be awful' experience, and that always sucks. :/
