Gonna just hop in here and say that skin color does not a white person make. Judaism is a separate race that happens to have many pale-colored people.

(Man, I wish I could find that article that states that genetic testing of two Jews from different sides of the world -- a different practices of the faith -- found more in common between them than a "white" Jew to his white neighbor.)

Whilst they're tremendously oversimplifying they're not entirely wrong.

(I mean we'd have deconstruct what race actually means, but lets set that aside)

Genetically they're a fairly isolated community, certainly more so then average which has all kinds of affects on genetic drift. Reason you see in more orthodox communities things like tay sachs which for all intents and purposes don't exist elesewhere.

Uh, I mean, I'm hardly an expert and haven't studied this or anything, but afaik Judaism spread through people actually moving from the place the religion was born into other countries, and then often intermarrying. It wasn't like Christianity, for eg, which spread into Europe because an Emperor had a vision and declared that Christ was a thing now, and so when the Romans took over European countries and Britain those countries were made to be Christian, and when the British/French/Spanish colonised other countries those countries became Christian.

Judaism wasn't passed on through power, but through people, so it's entirely possible logistically that there's a genetic connection between Jewish people all over the world.

Some Jews are pasty-looking, therefore they are exactly the same as WASPs and other "white" people. That's how Americans understand it, therefore it must be true.

Tell that to Hitler, Stalin, and everyone else who tries to destroy us as a people, and not as practitioners of a certain religion. Guess what, a non-practicing Jew? Still a Jew to the rest of the world including other Jews. This has been established the hard way many times for thousands of years.

Not to mention that our genetics are actually quantifiabley different from "white" peoples'.
