If I'm walking around at a convention and I see a cosplayed character I recognize, 90% of the time the most I'll do is think to myself "oh wow, look at that" or point the cosplayer out to a friend, rather than walking up to say hi/kudos or flailing around and screaming about it. I'm sure plenty of people recognized you, but honestly? Anime convention populace is not generally the kind of enthusiastic attention you're happy to receive.

Honestly, I'm the same way. I think it's mostly because I cringe at how unrealistic the sex is, though.

Also, have you ever heard of "shipping bed death?" It's where people lose interest in a couple after the "will they or won't they?" stops and they just become a couple. There are examples on tvtropes.org if you're interested.

That's kind of the reason people are considered "villains" to begin with. Sure, an utter lack of concern for others and personal choice plays a part, but most people who are considered "evil" had something happen to them that left them unable to see what normal life is like, and usually that thing is awful. It's not an excuse, and it's not the only reason, but it certainly is a factor.
