I realize that this is an issue that is close to you personally, and so it bothers you. But the media doesn't care about your pain, or anyone else's pain. They care about money. And they will exploit anything for the 'story' as long as its suitably dramatic. Anastasia is part of a long list.

It isn't meant to be a historical movie. It is just taking an interesting conspiracy theory (that Anastasia lived) and basically making a headcanon out of that. The actual revolution isn't even in the forefront of the movie (communism is never mentioned though it IS hinter at).

maybe they like shitty fanart better than good fic because they have the attention spam of a four-year-old on a sugar high

There are lots of movies about terrible things that actually happened.

Either denounce all historical fiction, or recognize that the only reason you care is because it effects you personally. And that means that you, if you were in the creators' shoes, would be perfectly cool with making a film about someone else's tragedy.

OP just wishes we could all get along like we used to in middle school, and that OP could bake a cake made out of rainbows and smiles and be happy

OP just has a lot of feelings

Anastasia died almost 100 years ago. How old are you that you know or knew people who were alive back then?

The post just came up anon, calm down and wait a bit.

Authors are fandom. I expect if we knew the author (given that she must be fairly popular), she probably has a fandom.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-30 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Wasn't there something about the dudes who played Starsky and Hutch?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-30 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you feel this way about all the movies where Anatasia lives or just this one?

Oh, and what are your thoughts on that animated Titanic movie?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-30 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Creepy would be continuing to dig for personal information. You heard she won an award, wanted to know what award it was, and found out. Nothing to worry about.

Wow. All these years after SGA and my first thought is still Kavanaugh.

You're friends with people who lived through the Russian Revolution?

How the heck old are you?

What kind of fandom are you in? I've never been in a fandom where people showed obvious preference for fanart over fanfic, not even when I was in anime fandoms during my tweens.

Well hello there Anon! You are never alone *gloomy music*
Edited (gifs. are a bad idea for this early in the threads, it will take ages to collapse and such ) 2014-04-30 23:19 (UTC)

Debbie and Eliza were never...cold to each other?

IDK, but I don't think it's fair to compare them.

Although I did love TWT.

This is fantastic. I really want to see a character with an oyster patronus.

Has anyone ever had any luck starting a community garden? If so, what worked for you?

I loved the Wild Thornberrys so much as a kid. ;_; I used to daydream and pretend being able to talk to animals.

OP doesn't want to talk about serious issues in fandom because fandom is their escape from that.

I feel like they go a little too far with it though in complaining about other people talking about serious stuff in their own corner. If people are insisting that you join in or you're obviously a no good bigot then that's a problem, but there are people who act like the very existence of those discussions is an accusation or something and I'm getting hints of that from this secret.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-30 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry OP, but using the :^) made me think I was over a few tabs looking at 4chan again, except there its about 10x more sarcastic because the carrot/^ is much more lower in the text. So I guess what I'm saying is I didn't take this secret all that seriously.

Hello. Is there anybody out there...

...I feel like you have a giant misconception re:writers and their job? No part of your story is "creepy", objectively speaking. It would have probably been weird if you searched her personal info, but her writing is literally her professional occupation. As long as no one stalks her IRL, the more people know about her writing, the better.

It's not that implausible. Someone who was, say, 18 in 1918 would have been born in 1900. So if OP is, say, in their 50s, they could easily have known someone from that period when they were young.
