It's hard to pick but I'd certainly say the mirror spider assasination. Or maybe the great ratflood... it's technically canon even if it's only in one account because the creator was involved.

Not quite canon, but the Severed Head Talent Show is right up there in my book.

I think this is a bit subjective... hm. For me it was Parks and Recreation suddenly jumping to 2017, but I totally acknowledge that's my weird thing about things taking place a few years into the future (unless they're short epilogues or something). I'm still saying the series actually took place four years in the past the whole time, and Michelle Obama's cameo is a callback to when she first started pushing nutrition. What? I'm weird.

As for actual messed up things that have nothing to do with my pet peeves, I'd say every moment in P&R that Jerry's been treated like crap. It was funny when it was an occasional gag, but now it's getting annoying, even if he does have the largest penis the meanest doctor in Pawnee has ever seen.

Our intrepid protagonist is stuck in space, out of water, and close to death, how will the girl crushing on him save his life

Oh

Oh no

Sadly, a lot of the River Song stuff in DW. I actually like her as a character a lot, but some of the choices they made... *wince*

The entire "Save Benson" arc in SVU, but especially the trial (and later, the televised confession and grand jury investigation) where they conveniently forgot Olivia had been kept drugged for days before beating her attacker to a pulp.

probably that part where the protagonist is chased by a murderous terrorist girl with a shotgun only to end up stumbling across an elephant and fainting

but I love it and am not sorry.

Or maybe this moment when a very cross douchebag of a professor threatens to eat a guy alive.

Vlad's treatment of Danielle in Kindred Spirits and D-Stabilized. Especially D-Stabilized. He finds this girl that he created , sens someone after her based on a lie then tries to MELT HER DOWN TO STUDY HER REMAINS.

(You know, for kids!)

I mean I love the character and am glad she's in the show. But you can't deny that's a little fucked up.

One of the characters in one of my shows recently discovered the horrible, depraved depths his superiors descended to keep him alive, which included flashbacks to him lying on a metal table with a machine in his head that literally would not allow him to die, keeping him in extreme agony.

The most recent Jonathon Creek Christmas special, where the light hearted, yet usually fairly tolerant and progressive, comedy-detective show suddenly took a surprise right turn into Transphobia played for cheap yucks. That was just completely messed up. Some things are just not comedy fodder.

My most recent fandom was TF2, so ... there's a range to choose from, really? The entirety of Meet the Pyro and Meet the Medic, for starters. Though Soldier giving a speech on Sun Tzu/Noah's Arc to his collection of decapitated enemy heads will always have a certain something, I think.

It started me back on an anime called Pumpkin Scissors, too. And from that, pretty much everything involving Hans is pure nightmare fuel, starting right from his opening scene:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvCFXgjf3Jc

And only getting worse when we hit his backstory:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4m4MdYFdE8

If I wasn't a pyrophobe before watching that, I sure as hell was afterwards.

Uh... For me it was probably that moment that Bucky realized he knew Steve, then had that knowledge taken from him. He had already been used and violated in so many ways...

But even though he didn't fully understand who Steve was it seemed like that might've been the first time since his last wipe that he had any kind of memory or emotion. Even if it wasn't, clearly the thought of being someone, having a life outside of his missions was such a foreign and confusing thought for him, but he wanted and seemed to long for that so badly.

So basically Sebastian Stan's puppy dog eyes.

Or Steve dropping his shield and resigning himself to letting Bucky kill him if he couldn't bring him back. That was hella horrible too.

Plus Natasha finding out she was practically working for Hydra... And having to put her entire, bloody past on the net in order to out Hydra. Winter Soldier was a barrel full of laughs, let me tell you.

(And hey, that's just Winter Soldier! How about Steve waking up in the future and realizing that pretty much every person he ever knew or loved was dead? Fun.)

The scene in Paranorman where Norman is trying to wrestle the book off the late Mr Prenderghast. It is utterly hilarious, until you remember that this is a ten year old child struggling with a corpse. Which is brought home later on when Norman runs to the body during the zombie attack to ask for advice, and Alvin comes in behind him and asks in shock: "Dude, what are you doing?"

Paranorman. A heartwarming, truly hilarious movie which is really, really horrifying in hindsight :)

I'm a few episodes behind, but so far definitely everyone stealing Adalind's baby from her. Maybe being on the run with the resistance WAS the safest course, but YOU DON'T STEAL SOMEBODY'S BABY if you're a good person.

Hmm. Tough call!

I'd say Castiel's liason with "April" is a pretty strong contender, given that it worked out to a two-for-one noncon scenario (at best,) but there've been some other doozies. Sam killing a possessed-but-conscious nurse to drink her blood so he could kill Lilith was another good (bad) one. I'm sure other Supernatural fans can make nominations.
