I accidentally killed a pet once when I was little. It was a guinea pig and I just squeezed him too hard. I had terrible guilt over it for years, but that didn't make him less dead of course.

I'm irrationally angry about not being able to play what I'm convinced are gorgeous, awesome games, just because I don't own a console and can't/won't get one.

Irrationally because seriously, self? Eventually they'll come out for PC, and you have plenty of other games that you love (helloooo Steam summer sale!). It's just a case of things being all the more attractive because I can't have them.

I am not good at conversation because I tend to talk about topics that make me excited or that I'm interested in, like writing or talking about my stories. I know that it's technically an Asperger's Syndrome thing but it makes me feel really bad afterwards.

I constantly worry about seeming like a self obsessed asshole.

I'm getting really tired of my best friend. She is driving me crazy with how negative and whiny she is. I should feel even more horrible than I do for it because she has problems worthy of being whiny and negative, but I can't tolerate people who are never happy and never have a good thing to say.

I'm a liberal who doesn't think capitalism is the epitome of evil and has no problem with people praying in school or government spaces, so long as no one else is being forced to do the same.

This is seen as a huge contradiction to some of my liberal friends.

Still sort of fandom related, but goes beyond fandom too... when I look back at some of my close friends from whom I drifted, I wonder simultaneously what went wrong and why I put up with their shit for so long.

I really hate Banksy. His graffiti is so trite and cliche and it spawned a whole lot of white suburban kids who are like, "Graffiti is so deep! It should be allowed everywhere!" Like, graffiti does have an important place in urban culture, but it's not the kind you're thinking of.

Met a guy and had what I thought would be a one-night-stand. As luck would have it, we hit it off REALLY well. Since he lives a few hours away from me, we've got a thing going now where any time he can make it over or I can make it over there we have a quick visit and shag our brains out. In the meantime, there's the odd phone call or email and whatnot, but we haven't really made any sort of real commitment to each other and all told I think we've seen each other in person ... 4 times? 5? ... since we met.


The secret is I keep imagining us getting married. As in, dreamy-eyed, should-have-gotten-over-this-sort-of-fairy-tale-silliness-in-my-teens type of "ooh... woudln't it be reaaaaaaaaaally romantic if...." "what will everyone wear" and "oooh, we'd dance to these songs" type of idiocy. I'm almost 30! This is STUPID.

The real reason I took so long to finish my studies was that I kept promising myself I'd be "allowed" to kill myself after I did because some twisted part of my depression was telling me it would hit my parents less hard if I'd finished college first. The sane part of me was worried I'd actually go through with it if I had no tasks left.

Anyhow, I did pull myself together and finished my degree and, miraculously, I no longer want to die. But I no longer want anything else, either. As in, I have zero motivation. I haven't searched for a job, I haven't really considered what I'm doing from here beyond a desultory search or two. Sooner or later, I'll HAVE to because hey, no job, no money, no money no food, but... eh. Some days I don't even bother to get out of bed. Part of me thinks I was better off before, because even though it was a horrible plan I had a PLAN.

All of me knows that this isn't healthy. But fuck it, now that my studies are over I no longer have access to therapy. FML.

In small talk with people I'll very likely never see again I lie through my TEETH because the answers to the go-to questions people ask (what do you do? where are you from?) are so complicated that if I tell the truth, the conversation becomes all me monologue my life story to somebody who keeps pushing for more details and I am frankly very sick of saying the same things a bazillion times. I'd rather just have casual banter or hear about somebody else for a change.
I live in fear of the day somebody from some bar or party or bus stop or whatever ends up actually KNOWING me and being all 'But- but- but - you said you were an average joe! What's all this!?'
